Simple but not easy...

DAILY VERSE
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Matthew 22:37–39

DAILY QUOTE
Let your religion be less of a theory and more of a love affair.

G. K. Chesterton

DAILY THOUGHT

Some people claim to love God but have a strong aversion to “religion.” But we are called to be part of the body of Christ, so an isolated faith isn’t part of God’s plan. However, the desire to keep things simple isn’t so bad. When the religious leaders of His day asked Jesus what matters most, He was able to summarize the Ten Commandments and the entire body of religious law into two simple commands:

  • Love God with all your heart.
  • Love your neighbor as yourself.

What more is there? It doesn’t get any simpler than that. But don’t mistake “simple” for “easy.” Jesus Himself showed us the true cost of loving God and others!

Dear God, I do love You with all my heart. Help me to love my neighbors as You love them. Amen.
