It's been a busy week and we've visited two of our park residents in the hospital. Thelma's husband, Jim, was admitted Sunday morning early; went through numerous tests; diagnosed with congestive heart failure; and dismissed on Wednesday. Marie has been in the hospital for over a week with a heart rhythm problem. Prayers for these two are appreciated.
Our Wednesday Bible study groups were great with twenty ladies and thirteen men attending.
Thursday morning was the first day of the Couple's Bible Study we attended last winter. We met at Gary and Cheryl's in Arizona City and began a study of the Sermon on the Mount. This week, we covered the Beatitudes, which was really good.
Don was all around the park yesterday visiting with first one and then the other. We are rejoicing that his energy level has been up today. He enjoys getting out and about so much.
Last night we invited Rick and Wendy to come over and play cards with us. That's always a fun time. I am happy to report that the girls finally overcame their slump and won the evening!
After choir practice, today, Rick and Wendy came to the Q and flushed out our hot water heater. We sure do appreciate all the things they do for us. I am sure there is an angel title for them. Oh yes, it's called Really Good Friends.
Joel and Linda arrived around lunch and we rode in to Casa Grande to introduce them to The Creative Cafe.
Linda had a specialty burger; Don and Joel each had a gyro and Greek salad;
and I ordered the lettuce wraps with a side of broccoli and bacon salad, which I shared with Don. The lettuce wraps are not PF Chang's, but they were very good!
James came by our table to say "hi" and give me a hug. It's always fun to see James.
Next we took them to Food City to purchase fresh tortillas. We purchased a dozen fresh tamales and split them once we got back to the Q. Don loves tamales!
Joel and Linda will be back for church Sunday and a concert here at the park Sunday evening.
Today was another gorgeous day here in the desert valley of Arizona. However, the weather guessers are suggesting that next week may include cooler temps and possible rain coming in from the Pacific. Rain would be very good.
We are so blessed.
