Waco - Day 3 - (4/05/08) Saturday

Yeah!! The sun is shining today! Today, we get to stay with Pook & Diesel 11:00 am until Leslie gets home from work. It's Heritage Week at Baylor... that's a celebration of the Alumni who graduated 50 years ago, or more. It's a big deal here and since Leslie works for the Alumni Association, she's got responsibilities and we're happy we're here to help out, since Daddy is in Corpus Christi.

[Opening Day for the Corpus Christi Hooks was Thursday evening. Khalil's first opening day ended with someone throwing something on fire into the big dumpster. Fire Department had to come out to contain the blaze. He got home around 4:00 Friday morning. Welcome to Facilities Management and Opening Day!]

While Don was at the VA Med. Center Wednesday, he saw an ad in the local newspaper for a 2004 HitchHiker, so he wrote down the number and called them this morning. We drove over and looked at it. Really nice older couple who need to sell because she had a stroke a couple of years ago and they don't travel anymore. It was a beautiful 5th wheel, like new and had almost everything we want. The only thing it is missing is a desk and that's important to us. We had to get rid of our couch in the Savannah to make room for a desk and if we buy a different 5th wheel we would like to keep the couch. However, the price was right: $29,900.00. So, we are praying about it. We still need to sell the Savannah and we would have to probably drive back down to Waco from Norman, OK, to pick up the new purchase if it materialized. Good morning, Diesel! Leslie at the computer sending Khalil pictures of his kids and wife.Diesel is finally warming up to me. Leslie went to the HEB for groceries and came home with this. Grocery stores sure have changed. This adorable tankini (red with white hearts) gets Pook ready for summer in the pool.Diesel is so funny... he looks at the camera and then laughs after the flash goes off, but I caught a smile here.He also loves to brush his hair after his bath. Snuggle time. Well, at least for Mommy. Camden is watching the basketball game. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! Go, KU! Oooops, there's Roy... Mommy's eyes open now! Couldn't believe that it was 9:45 PM and the game isn't over and we have to go back to the park where we have NO TV! Yeah! We have internet and CBS is live streaming the game, so we got to watch end of the game as KU beat NC. Apologies to Melvin, but you know we had to root for the Big 12 team. It was a tough decision, though, because we've been Roy Williams fans for years... since he was at KU.
