Here's a shot of the park where we're staying as we left for church this morning. Today was a great day of visiting past churches and seeing old friends. This morning we went to Macomb Baptist Church where Don was the pastor for the first year of our marriage. This is Linda Bean. And here's Linda Hobbs who was the first person baptized at Macomb Baptist Church and Don's first baptism while the pastor there. Would you believe this lady has five GREAT grandchildren? This Beverly and Thom Duncan, current pastor and that's Virginia Richardson, center, pianist. Meet the song leader, Frank Boydstun and his daughter, Beth. There's a story about Frank. The Sunday that Macomb Baptist voted to have Don as their pastor, they had a meal at the church. Frank sat down at our table and I asked him if he could possibly be related to a Frank Boydstun who was pastor at the Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, Texas back in the late 50's? Frank said, "Yes, that was my dad's first church when I was seven years old. I loved living in Blooming Grove." From that point, I begin to remember Frank as a cute little 2nd grader that all the older elementary school girls thought was so cute! It's a small world. Frank does a tremendous job at MBC and we appreciate him very much. You would never suspect that he has only one vocal cord, lost the other one to cancer several years ago. Tonight, we visited First Baptist, Noble, OK, where Don and I met in 1995. This is Larry Weaver, who was Don's best man at our wedding, and his wife Suzette. We had a great time visiting with a lot of old friends and acquaintances.
We end the day at Mama Trudy's playing "Shoot the Moon." Don won the night, but that's because we beat him last night and he wouldn't play with us anymore if we didn't let him win. Believe that?
