Brrrrrr.... it's a bit chilly this morning. Don got up in the night and turned on the heat. And then promptly slept until 8:30! That's unheard of for him. If he sleeps until 6:30, he calls that sleeping in. Now, me.... I slept until 9:30 this morning. Guess I was tired. But it's another beautiful day as you can see in this picture of Leslie's home as I arrive back there this afternoon after picking the kiddos up at pre-school and daycare, respectively.Leslie's neighbor and real estate agent has beautiful irises. This weekend, the white ones popped out. I just LOVE them. The professional carpet cleaner came to Les's today and cleaned the rest of the carpets and re-stretched. I did laundry at her house. Don got the propane tank filled and picked up sandwiches at Wendy's with a Frosty, naturally.
On our way to meet friends, Marzie and Donna for dinner, we saw this truck just like one we had seen on our trip from Arizona. Could it be the same truck??? We had dinner at Bubba's in Lorena, Texas just a few miles from Waco. Don and Marzie met while they were both in the Navy before Marzie married Donna. And then Marzie went home on leave for two weeks, met Donna, married Donna, brought Donna back to California with him, and they will soon celebrate 41 years of wedded bliss. Here they are in the swing in the gazebo that Marzie built in their backyard. After dinner, we went to their home for coffee, tea and fellowship. We are trying to talk them into coming to Branson on vacation this summer. Actually, it was their idea, said they haven't been to Branson in a long, long time: their 20th anniversary.Ginger, their "little girl," is a piebald minature dashund with one blue eye and one brown eye which is typical of a mini of her double coloring, called dappled, which is red and cream. Ginger and I became friends immediately, in fact, I think she remembers me from our visit last October. And she was bound and determine for Don to like her as she got in his lap and routed under his hand for him to pet her. Before we knew it, it was time to go... remember, we have a senior curfew. In October, when we were at their house we were enjoying visiting so much that we forgot the time. One of us happen to look at the clock and it was 9:50 PM and Don & I both jumped up and yelled, "WE GOTTA GO!" as we explained our curfew of 10:00 PM and why, as we ran to the truck. They laughed about that for days.
To top off a really good day, Snookie called me tonight! She said she didn't know whether to thank me or hate me because she just finished reading "Bring the Rain" blog by Angie Smith about her little daughter, Audrey Caroline. I'm telling you, it's that good. If you are up for it, start at the very beginning and don't read the end first.
It's after midnight and I must get some much needed beauty sleep.
God bless you abundantly. Keep walking in Truth and Light.
