Terrific Tuesday

As I was getting back to the Q after going to the gym (walked 2.2 miles with weights this morning!), Lucy called and said they were bored and were picking us up at 11:00 AM to go down to the landing (Branson Landing) for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Cantina Laredo.100_2256100_2258

Lucy had Combo #1; Jimmy had Combo #2; Don ordered Combo #3.  I chose a new item on the menu: Enchilada Avocado with artichoke hearts on a bed of spinach and a jicama salad.  It was very, very good. (Snookie, do you see an “O”?)100_2259

Later this afternoon, we met Jimmy, Lucy, Carol and Glen at Culver’s for a frozen custard and Jimmy’s rendition of Cheech and Chong.  We laughed until our sides ached.

Driving back to the Q, the moon was beautiful, so I took a few pictures when we got to the park.

Snookie, here’s another “O” for us.  It’s the moon, tonight.100_2274

By the way, Snookie called me for the second night in a row.  Watch her blog for a one of a kind Snookie story!  You will recognize it when she posts it.

My brother, Jon, posted a couple of pictures of Mama Trudy on FaceBook today.

This one is Mama with my cousin, Frieda, who recently visited her Aunt Trudy for a few days.  Mama thoroughly enjoyed her visit.2010 Aug Mama Trudy and Frieda

DAILY VERSE
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete. - 1 John 1:3–4

DAILY QUOTE
We all desire to be happy. That is something that is innate in human nature; nobody wants to be miserable, though I am aware of the fact that there are people who seem to enjoy being miserable and some who seem to find their happiness in being unhappy! - Martyn Lloyd-Jones

DAILY THOUGHT

Do we have a choice when it comes to joy?
The Apostle James says: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds" (James 1:2). Paul says, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4). Jesus said to His disciples, "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).
Is joy a choice? The biblical answer is clearly yes. But throughout Scripture there is a strong recognition that it is not always an easy choice. Life can be tough. We get hurt. There are disappointments. Sometimes circumstances seem to conspire against us. And yet as an act of worship, as a matter of prayer, as a declaration of faith, as an act of love for Jesus, we can choose joy. Just the fact that God has given us a choice to experience joy is a reason to rejoice.
Lord, I want to exhibit the qualities of true joy in my life. Thank You that You have started and will finish a good work in and through my life. Amen.

Mama Trudy looks so good. Give her our love the next time you talk to her. I miss her little laugh or should I say giggles. She is one neat lady!
