Back to the gym this morning! Felt good, but lower back still needs lots of stretching to keep from ‘spazzing.’
We had a scare today. Don got a call from Larry Weaver, best friend who was Don’s best man at our wedding. Larry’s daughter, Lori, also pregnant, had just had a car wreck and Larry and Suzette were on their way to the hospital, not knowing what they would find when they got there. Don prayed with Larry, Don and I prayed, and I sent out requests by email and on FaceBook. Praise God, Lori and baby are fine. The airbags activated and Lori was skinned up and shaken, but both are fine.
Don suggested that I make Panini's for lunch using the jalapeno cheese bread Joel made for us. Great idea, hon, they were delicious.
Sally dropped off some fresh okra and tomatoes, part of the bounty someone had shared with she and Dennis. I was back in our galley kitchen preparing supper tonight… homemade goulash and fried okra, Mama Trudy style. Sorry, forgot to take a picture. Had more important things on my mind. :-)
After dinner, we had a surprise! Jen, Mark and Jacob dropped by for a visit. We had not re-connected with them yet but had just said this afternoon that we needed to call them. Don even had his phone in his hand and then got side-tracked. We just love this couple that we met our first summer in Branson. Mark is in charge of the engine room on the Branson Belle and Jen has been in charge of concessions at Treasure Lakes RV Resort, but has given her two week notice there. She’s also driving a school bus for K-4th graders, so she feels like she needs to slow down a little as she is also volunteering at the Christian Academy. A real shaker and mover, that Jen. Dustin, their other son, is missing from this picture because he was so tired after school, he stayed home to sleep.
Still a hot day today. Hoping the weather guessers are right about the cooler temps the next few days. Hopefully, fall is on it’s way.
We are so blessed.
