A short road trip

Today was a fun day.  We got to tour a southern Missouri ranch!  We saw way too much and I took way too many pictures to ever post it all, so the descriptions here will be brief.

The main ranch house and headquarters.100_2282

A view of the house taken in the winter when foliage is gone.  There are no longhorns at this ranch, only Black Angus.winter

The ranch house was inspired by the house at South Fork from the TV series, Dallas.South ForkA historical grist mill that has been remodeled to be a social event center.100_2283100_2295100_2300

In front of the main house is this three acre spring fed lake with a constant water temperature of 56 degrees.  It’s stocked with fish.   100_2309

Inside the big house… the kitchen.100_2328

The building seen from the balcony here is an old general store and post office complete with original fixtures.100_2364

And into the basement game room.100_2376

And now for the secret door…..100_2342

Just one of the many vistas on the ranch.100_2417

Very friendly Appaloosa that came right up to the fence to let me pet him.100_2386

Can you just imagine the color here in the fall?  Beautiful.
