However, I won’t post all of them.
Don announced this morning that he has seen the inside of the Q and he needs to see something else today, so off we go southwest to Alabama… it’s only a few miles. We stopped at the Visitor’s Center just over the state line, a very manicured tourist info building and rest area.
With a handful of brochures, we head for Mentone, a quaint little town on the Lookout Mountain ridge.
Until this dam was built, all of this area was underwater.
This house has a great view of the water fall.
Next we found ourselves in Ft. Payne, the home of the country singing group, Alabama.
The First Presbyterian Church.
As we head back to the Q, we cross the Tennessee River, yet again.
We had been looking all day for a veggie stand and we finally saw one. Stopping, with our eyes on those tomatoes, we found this sign: “This is a honor system fruit stand. Please drop your money in the Wood Box.” Well, that’s just fine, we’re all for the “honor system,” but we had a $20 bill and all we wanted was a $4 tub of tomatoes. No attendant, no change, no sale.
Just past the old house below, we did find another veggie store and got a few fresh veggies. They also had a bottle of Yoder’s Good Health Recipe that we will probably go back and purchase, after checking out their website.
Now, about this old house… it’s really old, so why did they put an aluminum window in it and ruin my picture?
Hope you enjoyed our pictures. I sure enjoyed taking them. We had another good day. If you have emailed us or called us for prayer, rest assured that Don and I prayed for you this morning. Individually, we both pray all through the day as God brings friends and family to our minds.
We are so blessed.
No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love Him
(1 Corinthians 2:9).
