Stephanie’s latest project for Shabby 2 Chic is pillow art. She’s making them up for An Affair of the Heart in Tulsa next month. They will also be available on eBay.
Here’s where she does her work.
Stephanie found this taller cabinet at Habitat for Humanity and Rick helped her put the top on it for a storage/work table. It’s great for $35 don’t you think? Just the perfect height so she doesn’t have to stoop over when cutting out fabric.
Rick and Stephanie treated us to lunch today at the Brothers Huligan in Tulsa. Thanks Rick and Steph!!
Want to make $50,000 in a day or less?
All you have to do is climb to the top of a cell tower like this one and change out the flashing light bulb.
I could live on $100,000 a year, yes, very easily. So, I would only need to climb two towers a year. This one has a platform on the way up. Looks like a nice place for a picnic on the way to the top.
I haven’t researched this information received from son-in-law, Rick, but I know it would take a lot more than $50,000 to get me to the top of that thing!
On the way back to the Q, Don wanted to show me the azalea garden in Muskogee. Of course, the azaleas have already bloomed, but the garden and park were beautiful anyway.
This bronze eagle was mounted on top of the plaque above.
In the park was a large pond with a trail around it and several gazebos. There was a surprise waiting for us on this one.
The pond really helped drop the temperature with the wind blowing.
Paddle boats. I wanted to ride the big swan, but the gate was locked.
See those strange knobs? Don’t ask me, I don’t know what they are.
We made it to the first gazebo. What’s that behind that sack?
Awwwwwwwww. He was hiding. When he saw me coming toward him, he even got completely behind the sack.
Upon closer inspection, puppy was soaking wet and shaking, so he must have swam here from wherever he was supposed to be.
I so wanted to take him with me but that would have been impossible and we were hoping that his owners would be looking for him. If he was abandoned, there were gobs of people and children in the park, so I choose to think that his owners found him or he found a new home before dark.
The geese and ducks were plentiful, too. Maybe a goose chased the puppy into the water.
This is a huge park. A really nice place to bring the family.
Opposite the park was the garden that you could walk or drive through.
There were a few blooms here and there.
And a big blue heron or crane.
I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Muskogee, except for the little puppy. We got back to the Q and had a nice nap. Don woke up with an idea for dinner.
Another place that Don had been before, but I had never been, was Pete’s Place, an Italian restaurant in Krebs, Oklahoma, about 30 miles from the Q. This place was amazing. Don ordered grilled Italian sausage and I ordered chicken parmesan, both were outstanding. Before the entrees arrived, the waitress brought salad and a cheese plate and garlic bread. Oh my. Next came a huge platter of spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli. Are you kidding me? And if you ate all that, they brought you more. Guess who went home with two boxes of food?
So, on the way back to the Q, Don wanted to show me some more of the area around Lake Eufaula. It’s really pretty here.
On a side road off of OK-69, Don found a turn-out with a beautiful view of the lake. This is only a fraction of this huge lake.
We even saw Bambi and a couple of young bucks!!
The sun had set before we got back to the Q, but there was a gorgeous cloud in the west, outlined by the sunset. Almost looks like lightning, but I took numerous pictures of it.
It’s nice to know there is a storm shelter just a few feet from the Q.
The doors and the sides of the storm shelter are decorated.
We didn’t realize we were so close to the lake until we started walking around. It’s dusk, so it was getting pretty dark under the trees.
A view of Terra Starr RV Park from the water’s edge looking back west.
We finally made it back up the hill to the Q.
Of all the pictures I took today, I saved 110 of them. Oklahoma is a very interesting state and I still haven’t seen all of it. Would love to see Broken Bow one of these days, but it won’t be this trip.
Psalm 91:6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
