We were up early to get ready for breakfast at Jim and Ellie's, who live behind us facing the next street. We took our eggs, sliced perfectly ripened avocados, chopped green onions, diced ham and a carafe of decaf coffee. Can you imagine almost twenty couples in this kitchen? Me either, we took turns. This was our first time to make an "omelet in a bag" in a pot of boiling water for 15-plus minutes, depending on how many eggs were in your omelet. It was really good. Ellie also had fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, orange juice, whole grain bread and English muffins available.
Don and I met several people we had not met before and others we've not had the opportunity to spend any time with. Guest Bob with hostess Ellie and that's Toma in the pastel yellow. Former pastor GH Sublett and wife, Pat. I don't know what setting my camera was on, but this would have been a really good picture of our hostess Ellie and host Jim Bowen. It was a beautiful Saturday and some guest, including me, enjoyed breakfast on the front porch. We met Carolyn and Bob for the first time this morning. They attend church, but it's hard to remember everyone's name, if we have met them. Gert and Wayne. If you have a problem with your land line phone... Wayne is your man. Slim also, but he just grins and refers you to Wayne. "Gus" and Jean. Our neighbors. Dewayne, who just happens to be Jim's (Toma's Jim) cousin. Don, with his mouth full of toast. Hey Hon, have some cheese. (Ellie provided four different kinds of cheeses for everyone to choose from for their omelet.) You're still handsome and a good sport. Bill (new acquaintance), Evelyn (recently had surgery for throat cancer and speaks with the aid of a voice box... a delightful lady), Shari (whose mother was recently promoted to heaven). Gene and Evelyn. (sweet, sweet couple) Don and Ellie. (only about two weeks past her knee surgery... she's doing great!) Jeannette and Bill. We all had a great time of food and fellowship. I got pics of almost everyone and all the ones I hadn't met before.
Tonight was movie night at the activity center and Jim Taylor had arranged for us to see Fireproof, starring Kirk Cameron. If you haven't seen this movie, I recommend it highly. Three more rows were added after I took this picture. We are so blessed.
