Tulsa, Lakeland Community Church

As we were driving to Eufaula, Oklahoma this morning we noticed these formations in the sky by several jets. I call them the "Sunday morning crosses in the sky." (the curved line is a reflection in the windshield)100_6302 And out the opposite window...100_6304

This morning, we drove 2 hours from Tulsa to Lake Eufaula (very full these days)100_6305 to church as the pastor and friend, Chris Kilpatrick had invited Don to preach there at the Lakeland Community Church.100_6316 This is a small lake community church with about 7 couples in attendance this morning.100_6308  Music was awesome! I wanted to take these musicians to Branson with us. That's the very talented Chris Kilpatrick on the keyboard.100_6313   As we wait for God's direction for next winter, we needed to hear the sermon God had given Don: "Going Where God is Going." (John 12:26).100_6315

After church, we all went to Belle Star's Restaurant owned by Lali where Lali had reserved us a private dining room. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and food.  Thanks, Chris, for the delicious lunch and to everyone for making us feel so welcome and loved.  Here' Chris and his bride, Vicki.  I must explain her black eyes.  A few days ago, she was carrying her four month old grandson in the yard and evidently tripped over a water hose and fell.  She took thought of only protecting the baby and took a hard blow to her nose.  Thankfully, the baby had only a slight scratch on his little face.100_6320

Chris is also serving as the President of CRM International Board of Directors. Please pray for Chris and Vicki as they desire only to follow God's directing.  In addition to the ministry work they do as pastor of Lakeland Community Church, they also own a heating and air conditioning business in Anadarko, OK.

On the way home, we passed by the hometown of Cari Underwood... Checotah, OK. See the water tower? 100_6328 Tonight, Stephanie and Rick grilled hamburgers for dinner and we enjoyed a game of croquet before the meal. Steph made Don's favorite pie: pink lemonade.... which was delicious.  Afterwards, we relaxed to watch Extreme Home Makeover special two show.  Steph had recorded it, so we got to buzz through it in record time. Thanks, Steph & Rick, for the wonderful meal and gracious hospitality.  We have so enjoyed getting to spend a little time with Stephanie and family.

Rick asked me to post that Stephanie is looking for a Mini Cooper convertible if anyone has one for sell... let me know.

Oh, yes, I wanted to share with everyone the idea that Stephanie has implemented for herself and Rick has joined her.  She prepares a paper bag with non-perishable food items, a Gospel tract and a bottle of water.  Keeping this bag handy inside her car, when she sees a person at an intersection holding one of those signs like "will work for food" she gives them one of the handy paper bags.   They shared this idea with their Sunday School class and a few other couples have told them that they are also doing this.  Great idea!

Blessings to all as you pray for God to help you "abide in the shadow of the Almighty."  (Psalm 91)
