Prayer request

My brother, Jon DeRusha is the Asian Field Administrator for Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples. In February, Jon left to go to Guam and Myanmar (Burma) to relieve missionaries on leave for a month.

This morning, I received this email from his daughter, Tammy:

"LaVon—need to let you know that dad is ok. Perhaps you didn’t know, but he had a bout with vomiting and stomach illness when he was preaching at the bible college in Myanmar (Burma). He is fine, but weak. Mom has actually spoken with him, finally (!), and urged him not to attend church today, but rather to rest at the (western-style) hotel. He should be back on Guam soon, the 3rd, I think. Pray for his strength and health. We’ll all feel much better when he gets on American soil. ...."

We invite you to join us in praying for Jon at this time. He is also a severe diabetic, but he has never used it as an excuse not to do what God has called him to do. When I read Tammy's email, Don and I immediately joined hands and spirits to intercede for Jon and to pray for peace and comfort for Carolyn (his wife) as she awaits his return to the U.S.

Thank you for praying for Jon's health and safety.
