Happy Easter

It was great to see Frank and Helen Maguire in church this morning and to have Frank back leading worship for us. Imagine being able to sit down at a piano, start playing a hymn, realize that the key is too high for the congregation and changing keys at the beginning of the next verse. Wow! Music was tremendous this morning. Thanks Frank!100_4391 Title for this mornings sermon was "The Empty Promises of Easter" with text from Luke 24:1-12. Don's points were (1) the emptiness of the cross promises us forgiveness of sin, (2) the emptiness of the tomb promises us eternal life with God in Heaven and (3) the emptiness of Jesus' clothes in the tomb promises us He will return for us. Don explained the culture of that day was, if a visitor did not enjoy a meal they wadded up their "napkin" and tossed it on the table indicating they would not be back to eat in that particular place or home; if they did enjoy the meal they would fold their napkin neatly and place it at their place on the table indicating they would be pleased to return. I thought the analogy was tremendous and very powerful comparing Jesus folding his burial clothes and leaving them on the slab indicating the promise that He would return.

Here's our wonderful friends Dave and100_4397 Darlene with Don after church.

After church we moved to the cantina for the delicious brunch that had been prepared by some of the ladies from church and provided by park manager Jeannie Budd. It was enjoyed by all. Here's Jeannie with Helen and Frank Maguire.100_4409 100_4398 100_4403

Here's Joyce Cooley and her mom, Ms. "Ma'm" Hope, 98 years young. 100_4400 Barb, Carol Bowman and her granddaughter Jasmine with her adorable Easter bunny.

Jeannie told us that we should celebrate Frank's birthday which is in two days, so we started singing "Happy Birthday" to him. Whoa! Frank gets up and stops the music because, you know, we are soooo off key, so he leads us in his own "Happy Birthday" to me song. What a hoot!100_4410 Tom & Sharon will be leaving right after the brunch, headed for home in Oregon. Safe travels and God's blessings to you both.100_4405
