Happy Valentine's Day!

First thing, I got one e-card and one email with a picture of pretty roses from my sweetheart. Then he invited me to breakfast. He always looks so handsome when he steps into the living area of our "house" and this morning was no exception. I was delighted to go out to breakfast with him. We had a yummy breakfast at: Next was a trip to Fry's (Don's favorite grocery store in C.G.) to purchase items for the dinner he has been planning to prepare for me tonight. We skipped lunch in anticipation of our evening meal. Don marinated the chicken breast all afternoon and put them in the rotisserie around 4:30 after he had prepared the salads and placed them in the frig. While the chicken was cooking, he prepared the table and the rest of the meal. I love being able to take pictures of this act of love by my sweetie. I am so happy he loves to cook and he's so good at it. The table was so pretty with the Valentine plates/glasses that he had bought me earlier.... and complete with candle.Look at this beautiful salad and he served it with a balsamic vinegar, e.v.o.o. & seasonings dressing that was a perfect blend of sweet & sour over the strawberries in the salad. And shrimp cocktail, even. I love it! Finally, it's time to sit down and enjoy these wonderful creations. And the master chef is seated. After enjoying our salad & shrimp cocktail, it was time for the main course. I wish I could adequately describe how perfect this meal was. The chicken so moist and flavorful and the fresh asparagus was seasoned & baked to perfection. So delicious. No special occasion meal is complete without something a little sweet. Don found this strawberry cream cheese cake at Fry's and my contribution to the meal.... sliced fresh strawberries... with a cup of fresh, steaming black coffee. And all of this with our favorite songs playing softly on the air. Magnificent. Thank you so much to my sweetheart. My life with you is a dream come true. I love you very much.
Our song:
UP WHERE WE BELONG (Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes)
Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know, is the way I feel
When it’s real, I keep my prayer alive
The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb steps every day
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow
Some hang on to "used-to-be"
Live their lives looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our lives, out there to find
The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb steps every day
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow
Time goes by
No time to cry
Life’s you and I, alive, baby
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow
