frizzlin' friday

It started peppering rain on the skylights of our "house" last night at midnight and it has been cloudy and drizzling and frosty... frizzlin'... ever since. Well, maybe frosty is a bit of an exaggeration, but after six days of warmer weather, it feels frosty. Could be because it's snowing in north Arizona. Dave called and he and Darlene are stuck in San Diego because Interstate 8 is closed because of snow over the top of the pass. Hopefully they'll make it home tomorrow.

We postponed our plans to go with Bob & Snookie to Beaudry's RV Sales & Service in Chandler. Beaudry's is having a big sales push with free food and entertainment. We've all been wanting to go and just look at what the new RV's look like, but because of the weather and Don's pacemaker check this afternoon we decided to delay until tomorrow and see what tomorrow brings and maybe we will go then. We haven't had a day out with our wonderful neighbors yet, so we are looking forward to spending a day with them.

Don got out this morning between rain showers, but no one else was out much.

We spent the day inside. Can you believe it? He beat me....

George & Nancy brought friends from Albuquerque over for us to meet. Bertie & Bill. They are all going to Rocky Point, Mexico tomorrow for a week. We had a good time visiting with them. It's always fun to meet new friends. Bertie is the type who is always up for a little fun and Bill seemed laid back and easy going... great folks. Wish we could get to know them better. Thanks to the Reid's for "sharing" their friends with us.

So, I spent of lot of time on the computer downloading music for worship.

.... playing Farkel. :-)

here's an old-timer's hint on playing farkle. . .
The odds are against you if you are just rolling 3 dice.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION: If you've rolled and have 300 or more points and only have 3 dice left, just stick! Take the 300 and run! Rack up the points. . . baby steps to 10K. . .
Take a chance once in a while and roll the last die if you have 1100 points. . . if you farkle, you can't cry because you REALLY risked. BUT, if you have 300, 500, 600 points, and you keep rolling 3 dice, you're just tempting fate!
To many Farkle victories!

the rules we have set the minimum score to roll at 350. and 500 to get on the score sheet, initially. you're right about the odds against rolling 3 dice.
