So the day progressed well, with the kids playing and after pool time was over, Lydia and Emma decided to take a ride on Lydia's electric scooter, wearing helmets, of course. Somewhere around the corner and in the next block, the scooter bounced out of control on a piece of raised concrete and Lydia and Emma landed on the sidewalk. Lydia saved Emma from actually hitting the sidewalk, but Lydia ended up in the local ER. The x-ray shows a possible fracture of her right knee cap and they applied a stabilizing brace with orders not to put any weight on her leg until after seeing an orthopedic specialist Tuesday. It was quite traumatic for Lydia.. and Emma ... well, and the rest of us, too. There was blood involved and lots of crying. I went with LaNae to take her to the ER and she really was a trooper considering the pain she was in. We are all very thankful that it wasn't more serious.
