We jumped up this morning and got ready to go out on Highway 62 to find a good place to meet online/blogging friend Peggy Bullock and husband Bill. It has rained a lot during the night and more this morning. While we were driving around, it was still cloudy.Beautiful horses along our search route. This goat was part of a goat farm. Yes, this is a goat, Snookie. We also found a steakhouse off the beaten path that is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The price of the meal also includes a ride in a horse drawn carriage around the countryside. Doesn't that sound like fun?!! Sounds like a Date Night to us.
It seemed that Braum's in Newcastle was the best place to meet Peggy and Bill as there was a huge parking lot behind the restaurant for their 40 foot Cardinal and truck. I was tickled to see that Peggy had driven from Duncan, OK and was driving when we parted. After our sandwiches, Bill, Peggy and I needed uh, desired wanted .... needed dessert. Don caught me trying to make a decision as to which flavor I needed. I settled on one scoop of pomegranate sherbet (delicious) and one of peanut butter cup. Don had a strawberry shake with his burger, thus, the reason he was at the table with the camera. The hour with Bill and Peggy passed so quickly. As Peggy said, "We could have gabbed all afternoon" but they needed to be on their way.Old friends we just met and we are making plans to spend more time together when we both return to Arizona in the Fall. Can't wait! Since Snookie and Bob will have more free time this year, we will have to all do something together. OOOOOO, I can't wait! Thanks to Snookie for introducing me to Peggy!!Bye for now, Peggy and Bill... drive safely and God bless you until we meet again. We made our way to Mama Trudy's to spend the afternoon with she and Tammy before taking Tammy to the airport.
The yellow rose bush a few doors down from Mama's is covered with yellow roses. So pretty.(It's just a little ant.)This flower is called a Cock's Comb.We taught Tammy how to play Shoot the Moon. She loved it liked it hated the game. She and Don were partners. It's 6:00 PM and time to head to the airport.Goodbye was tough and they both were fighting tears. Tammy is Mama's only son's only daughter who lives in Washington. Now it's how turn to leave her in the care of the airport. I am so grateful that Tammy had this opportunity to visit her grandmother and us.It cleared off to be a beautiful day and now a few clouds are gathering again.Since we were in OKC, we ate dinner at the Kona Ranch. The building looks like one right out of the Hill Country of Texas.Back to Newcastle and the Q.Tomorrow... Waco to help with Leslie's move.
We are so blessed.
