Everybody loves a parade!

We were provided a golf cart with the sign already attached.  Don is well known for “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it” because he has the church congregation repeat it almost every Sunday.100_1351

Rene poses by the Kitchen Band sign.100_1348

I got so tickled when he realized that he had left his toothpick in his mouth… like that was the only ridiculous thing about this picture.  He was serious and insisted I take a picture without the toothpick.  Funny man.100_1347-1

Another member of the Kitchen Band.  I’ve never really seen a bed pan in the kitchen, but I’m thinking this “instrument” just may be very musical.100_1349

Joe, a parade director.

Floy and Barb with her fur-baby.100_1354

The lead car in the parade carries the Prom King and Queen for this year, Art and Delores.100_1367

Delores is unable to be in the parade this year because she is in the hospital.  Prayers are greatly appreciated for her.100_1358

Got a picture of Tip O’ Texas official photographer, taking a picture.  Groovey socks, John!!100_1361

Another colorful parade participant.  Don’t see any green, though, but his eyes sure are smiling.  Wonder if he’s Irish?100_1360

This Ford was shipped from Alaska!100_1362

A few of the T.O.T. Volleyball team prepare to walk in the parade.  That young’un doing the ball trick is the visiting son of the man in the white cap, Bruce.100_1373

Our friend Monte shows off the medals he won this year in the Golden Age Olympics.100_1380

Another friend, Warren, rides his Harley in the parade.100_1376

Spectators!100_1393

Jan and Lyla.100_1401

By the time we got to them, they had moved closer to the street to take pictures.100_1403

The Color Guard.  Our friend, Roger, with the Texas flag.100_1404

That’s our park managers!  Jim in the green wig and Donna with her fist in the air.  As we drove by, she shouted, “Yay God!!!”  Love her!!!100_1407

Everybody loves a parade.  Especially Joyce.100_1408

Almost every group at Tip O’ Texas was in the parade.  We even have cheerleaders!!!100_1417

Of course the puppies were present!100_1398

Oh, those Red Hatters!100_1414

She sure did want to be a part of the parade.  Her grandpa was the man driving the old Ford.100_1415

Next event:  The Mermaids, our park synchronized swimming ladies.  These lovelies are waiting for the show to begin.100_1452

The six Mermaids are introduced and the music begins.100_1433 100_1434 100_1435 100_1430 100_1441 100_1437100_1451

They put on a good show and performed through four songs.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Mermaids.

The Golf Cart races started at 1:00 PM.  One person drove the course blindfolded, then took off the blindfold and did a U-turn.  They traded places and the second person drove the reverse route, blindfolded as the rider gave directions.  Each cart raced along against the stop watch.100_1458

It got pretty scary.  I couple of times, folks were scrambling to get out of the way.  This man fell on the ground trying to move.100_1461

She stopped just inches before slamming into this utility pole!!  And she was going at a pretty good clip!  Her rider sure kept her cool.100_1473

It was getting hot and Don was tired, so we headed back to the Q.

It was a fun St. Patty’s Day.
