It was a beautiful day at Lake Waco today.
Leslie dropped off Camden at 9:00 this morning to play with us while she went to Emma’s field trip. While she was here, LaNae sent a message that she had just been in an earthquake in Norman, OK and was “officially freaked out.” 5.1 on the Ritchter scale is a pretty sizable shake, rattle and roll in QuakeDom. The center of the quake was only a few miles from Aunt Bernice. Thankfully, everyone is okay.
Soon, we were all on our way to the playground.
Camden could play and play and play.
Poppa Doppey took his morning walk while Camden was climbing and sliding.
Then Poppa Doppey rested by the water.
Gentleman next door was lonely, so he came out to be Poppa Doppey’s friend for a while. He asked, “Won’t they let you play with them?”
After two hours of climbing, sliding and throwing sand up in the air, we walked back to the Q where we played Yatzee (Camden loves numbers) with Poppa Doppey, ate two Amish Peanut Butter sandwiches (Camden ate two by himself), drank a glass of milk and I read “Joe Bob Has Something To Say” by Glenda Fisher, to Camden. When we were reading it for the third time, Leslie came to pick up our big boy. He is so all boy, almost always moving, moving, moving, but I loved it when he crawled up in my lap and said, “Nonni, you’re the best.” Yep… I liked that pretty much.
Well, my afternoon was spent with a bottle of Nutrisse, followed by dealing with the shock of what I beheld in the mirror. Finally, Khalil texted me wanting to know when we were coming for dinner and I told him I was waiting for it to get dark! But we went to help Billie, Khalil’s mom, celebrate her birthday. We had a great time around the table… talking, laughing, listening to our grandkids sing. Loved it!
Everyone liked my hair, especially Leslie and Camden who said, “Wow!!” when we walked in. I took the liberty of accepting that as a compliment. It’s much more red than it looks in this picture; not what I planned.

Grandkids are a lot of fun.. We have been having a great time here. Don't get to see them all but the little ones are a "hoot".
You look great! And it will grow on you. Loves and hugs.
Hi Lavon & Don,
Love the color, and I have to agree with Camden, "You are the best". Enjoy this time with your grandkids. They do grow and change over night. Love you and miss you, LoPo & NoPo
