Canton to Grandkids (Waco)

In just the three days we were parked at the Texas Trails RV Park, more color appeared100_3723

We got started about 10:00… destination:  Grandkids!!

Along the way, I thought this was interesting and your guess was as good as mine.  What would be the reason to paint a vintage trailer in this fashion?  Then when I downloaded my pictures, I said, “what is that writing just above the bumper.”100_3724  Reading it required enlarging it.

What in the world is “Sisters on the Fly?”  Click on the above picture for a very interesting story.

Going through Corsicana, I took a picture of Beaton Street.  When I was a teen, occasionally I would drive the ten miles from Blooming Grove with friends to ‘cruise’ this street in downtown Corsicana.100_3725

Also, in Corsicana is my Alma Mater.  This building looks the same, but lots has been added to this campus.  It looks great.100_3726

This made me feel at home.100_3727

We arrived at our park around noon, but our site wasn’t evacuated yet, so we parked in a vacant site and enjoyed a sandwich under the trees.  Wish we could stay in this site, but it’s not a full-hook-up site.100_3728

What would cause a tree to gnarl like this?100_3730

Before we finished our sandwiches, the park host came to tell us our site was ready.100_3733

Finally!  About 3:00, Leslie and the GRANDS came over on their way to her volleyball practice.  (She’s coaching)

And Pook was next, but it wasn’t really the sunglasses she wanted me to notice.100_3735

Do you notice anything?  Sparkly?100_3735-1

That’s right.  Last Friday, Emma finally talked her daddy into letting her get her ears pierced.  Les reported that she was such a big girl and never even flinched.2010 Emma ears pierced

While Don and I were at Cheddar’s eating dinner, a storm was brewing and birds were gathering.  They are coating these wires for as far as we can see, almost.100_3737

As the storm begin to blow, the birds seem to become almost frantic, flying in all different directions.   It was eerie.100_3738

Back at the park, the sunset was amazing thru the dark clouds and across the lake.100_3742

Behind me to the southeast, the storm was dark.100_3744

When I turned back to the sunset, it was at it’s most vibrant.  Took my breath away.  Way to go, God!!!100_3745

And then, it was gone and the colors more muted, but still beautiful.100_3746

Don is waiting for me to walk back up the hill.100_3748

One more sunset capture through the trees.100_3750

Every direction I looked, their was different clouds and colors.  Northeast.100_3751
