Leslie witnesses history in the making

All day, Leslie waited for the call that their friend, Kenny (ex-co-worker with Khalil), had tickets waiting for them at ‘Will Call’ at the Rangers Stadium in Arlington.  About 4:00 PM, she got that message and did a baseball happy dance in the middle of the floor.

Don and I felt like poo, but we wanted to stay with the kids to allow Leslie and Khalil to go to the Ranger vs. Yankees game… possibly history in the making.  This means so much to Leslie as she feels like she has grown up with the Rangers, since the team started the year she was born.

Grammie Billie relieved us as soon as she got off work at 4:30 and we came back to the Q.

We kept up with the game online and with pictures Leslie took with her phone and posted on FaceBook.

Kenny got them great seats up in the nose-bleed section,Rangers1 but they didn’t care… they were in the stadium and it was just electric there.  They didn’t even care that it was raining.Rangers2

Last at bat for the Yankees.  How poetic that the last batter was Alex Rodriquez and he was stuck out standing!!!Rangers3

Happy Texas Rangers fans!!Rangers4

After the game, they were down by the gate to the field to say bye to Kenny and thank him for the tickets and the gate keeper said, “come on in,” so they did.  Leslie was in awe that she was actually standing on the field when Mrs. Jackie Moore walked up to give her a hug.  Now Jackie Moore is the Rangers’ bench coach and clients of R Bank in Round Rock.  Leslie met them while she worked there when they were living in Round Rock.  It’s a well known fact that Coach Moore loves my daughter…. LOVES her, so Mrs. Moore asked if Jackie had seen her yet and Leslie said, “no,” so Mrs. Moore said, “come with me,” and took her by the hand and led her to the LOCKER ROOM!!!  Leslie could not believe that she was standing in the champagne/ginger ale drenched locker room with all the Texas Rangers players and coaches and wondering where her husband was.  Khalil soon caught up with her and she started taking pictures with her camera, which I will post as soon as she has edited them and posted on FaceBook.
