Gingrich Farms

It’s traveling day and we wake up to rain.  Of course.  About 9:30, the rain stopped and Don got everything outside ready to roll and I prepared the inside.  We were on the road about 10:00 AM.

Goodbye Lakeside RV Park.  See you later, Joyce Cooley and mom.100_0116The office where Joyce works.100_0117A farm scene along our one hour trip to LeRoy.100_0118We arrived about 11:45 AM.100_0204And in a few minutes, we were at Jack and Kathy Gordon’s.  “Hi, Jack. Where’s the bathroom?!”100_0122

They are ready to take us to lunch at Mr. Pib’s.  This is my grilled chicken salad with raspberry dressing. Yumm.100_0126

After lunch, we headed out to Larry and Elaine Gingrich’s farm.  When we got there, Elaine was mowing the front yard.100_0129

In the baby barn, Kathy lets a calf use her fingers as a pacifier.100_0139

Elaine finds a taker, too.100_0140

What a pretty calf.100_0141

This lady could have been mama cow to the baby calf above.100_0142

These calves are younger than the previous calves.100_0148

This is the calving barn and the cows in this pen are within two weeks of giving birth.100_0149

These ladies will be in this pen after it’s vacated by current residents. 100_0150

You can imagine that the aroma on the farm and in the barns isn’t the most pleasant, so I must add a flower.100_0153

Tonight, Jack and Kathy made Navaho Tacos with homemade flat bread.  Elaine and Larry came over and we all enjoyed a feast on the patio.  Afterwards it was time for a game of Nil; ladies versus gents.

Gents 3 – Ladies 1

We had a fun time and before it got dark, Larry went on top of the Q and….100_0161

It’s so cool to be with these Sunscape friends!

Enjoyed seeing the farm, brought back good memories of when NoPo's parents farmed. They had Jersey's and I agree, they are pretty as far as cows go. We will have to work on the Nil score! Have a great time and see you very soon.
Love, LoPo
