Wonderful Wednesday at Sunscape in the desert

Today, Don has been really busy.  First thing this morning, Virgil took Don for a ride down the canal and out in the desert on his new Polaris.  I slept in this morning, so didn't get any pictures. (I'm bummed about that.)

When he got back, we rode the golf cart over to see Linnea and Fran's new kitchen floor.  Larry and Jack did a great job, as usual, installing the laminate wood flooring in the kitchen, dining room and hall.  A few of Linnea's roses were showing off and you know I could not resist.2010 Apr 7 flowers1

We had lunch at the new Chipotle Mexican Grill in C.G.  It was really good.

This afternoon, Don had a meeting at 2:00 and I rode my bike around taking pictures of all the flowers.  The meeting was about the process of selecting our replacement here at Sunscape.  It's going well and CRM and Don will do everything they can to make the transition a smooth one.  It's an exciting time as we all pray and watch as God directs the process.  Please pray with us.

We have been very encouraged by the park we are going to in October.  The manager and the departing chaplain and wife have been so helpful and welcoming.  It's just all so exciting to watch God work and provide what we need to do the work He has called us to do.

Tonight, Don made dinner for Toma and Jim and we carried it across the street to them.  Her ankle seems better, but she is still very limited in how much she can do.

After dinner, Don and I took a walk and visited with several people along the way.  We stopped at George and Nancy's  to hear all about the fun they are having picking out tile, carpet, etc. for their new home being built in Casa Grande.  We are so excited for them and can't wait until it is finished.

We stayed for awhile and they taught us how to play "9 card Golf" with two decks of cards.  It's fun!

It's a sad day at the Mitchell's and for Sunscape... their trichocereus with forty-one buds, broke!  The buds that weren't damaged will probably open because they are still being nourished by the trunk.  Jack has already dug the hole to transplant the top in about a week.  The part that is still rooted will seal over on the top and continue to produce other trichocereus and flowers.  We sure were looking forward to seeing all those blooms showing off at once.... maybe.2010 Apr 7 flowers22010 Apr 7 flowers4

This prickly pear cactus is about ten feet tall.  Can't wait until more blooms are open.  They are a gorgeous color.2010 Apr 7 flowers3

Way to go, God!!  So beautiful!100_2610

The next three pictures are part of the beautiful landscaping that Jim and Toma work so hard at.100_2615100_2616100_2617

The above flowers are too pretty not to showcase.... such a unique color.100_2618100_2622

Next stop, Mike and Madeline Moore's trichocereus and rock garden.100_2627

Just breath-taking.  There were over twenty blooms open in their garden in the front of their park model.100_2628100_2630

Another interesting tree and bloom is the Bottle Brush.  Aptly named.100_2637100_2638

Sure hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.

"We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:20-21)."
