Garth Hall update: Shari called with a good report. Garth is being moved out of ICU. They are continuing the Heparin drip, Coumadin and aspirin as the blood clots are still present in his lungs. He has had another CT scan that indicates that the bleeding is still stopped in his head. Good news! With his blood being thinned, that was a concern. His appetite is returning and Shari said his color is good. Daughter, Theresa, has arrived to help Shari find a physical therapy center for Garth and they found the perfect one for when Garth is able to move, no sooner than five days. We’re praying that an available room will coincide with Garth’s release from the hospital.
Today has been a wonderful day through my lens. That means I have had so much fun!!
Jim Chesness could not wait to show me the quail’s nest. He said he quickly counted twenty-four eggs.
Some had even rolled out of the nest. If you’re going to build your nest on the ground, I guess in the middle of a prickly pear cactus would be a good place to be protected from that pesky roadrunner.
Next, Jim showed me two baby doves in their nest. He even touched them.
Next, cactus flowers. Cholla. Toma has five different colors of cholla flowers.
Hedgehog and a lone desert marigold.
The mesquite tree is finally full of green leaves.
Fiddle stix… I don’t know what these are.
Another pair of baby doves. I found them!!
… we followed it into the gas station. Looks like a souped up, modified PT Cruiser to me.
We drove over to Central Arizona College to see if there was a baseball game. No baseball game, but the Saguaro there are LOADED with buds about to pop.
In fact, two buds have already popped! These were on top and this is the best picture I could get.
In front of the Saguaro, a ocotillo was putting on a show.
Who is that handsome man? Just another one of God’s works of art. [Hey Dave, Don got a new yellow shirt!]
I count ten visible new arms on this Saguaro. That’s a crowd!
Up on a mountainside, I spotted two more Saguaro blooms. I sure hope the ones at the park open before we leave.
These are my favorite roses in the park.
Rick and Wendy are getting settled in at their new summer job. Rick is going to try to stay off of his sprained ankle as much as possible for a few days before he starts riding the new John Deere mower around the golf course where they are in Washington. Wendy will be putting in a few hours a week in the pro shop and on the golf course. Rick won’t be able to play golf for about two months. That will be brutal.
What a blessed day we’ve had. Visited with Jim and Toma and Virgil and Linda today. Went on a wild goose chase looking for furniture for a girl in need at a few garage sales. Went to the movie. Had wonderful salad for dinner, compliments of my wonderful husband.
Life is good. God is the creator of life, therefore, God is good… all the time. News flash… even when life doesn’t seem so good, God is still good, all the time.

Your pictures and text are amazing. They make me smile and be so happy that God has given me this life and your friendship. I can just hear your sweet voice with it's beautiful southern drawl as I read your words. Don looks amazing and we pray for his continued good health. You both are always in my daily prayers!
Loved the pics! Especially of that handsome man in the new yellow shirt. LOL! Rick was on his foot yesterday and today he is paying for it. I guess he had to learn the hard way. Love and miss you guys!
We sure do miss you two. Hey the picture of the roadster, is actually a Prowler, made by Chrysler/Dodge in the late 90's and early 2000's. They are an all aluminum body and frame, and have a front engine and rear transmission. I have actually rode in one, on the test track at the Chrysler Proving Grounds where NoPo retired from. A fun little car for sure. Just some fun facts on the Prowler. Love you and miss you, LoPo
The desert flowers are beautiful. The eggs and birds are a rare find I would imagine. Keep on taking those fantastic pictures LaVon...Joel & Linda
