Marvelous Monday with Min (and Dick) and the Maguire’s

Yesterday, Dick Wright invited us to lunch with them for today, at Robson Ranch (did you know they make homemade potato chips???).  Dick and Min are such a sweet couple and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.  They raised FIVE boys!  We love learning about the lives of the folks we minister to.  Min was so cute when I took their picture.  She doesn’t like to smile big because she thinks it makes her cheeks too big.  Aren’t we gals funny about the ideas we have about ourselves?   100_2894

Our waitress did a pretty good job of taking pictures.100_2895

The flowers and plants at Robson Ranch are interesting.

…up close.  It looks soft and feathery, but it’s really rather prickly.  Of course it’s prickly, we’re in the desert!100_2900

Three o’clock in the afternoon found us at Frank and Helen Maguire’s home, Quail Run.  It was soooo good to see them again and the best part of the afternoon was listening to the music and lyrics (all by Frank) to the musical he wrote, “Miracle,” an adaptation of the “Miracle on 34th Street.”  They both “narrated” as we listened to the CD and we could see the play so vividly in our minds.  “Miracle” has been “work-shopped” by two different casts at the Arizona Broadway Theatre, a dinner theater extraordinaire.  They are considering Frank’s “Miracle” for the Christmas season.  It’s highly unusual that the theatre doesn’t already have a play on the schedule for this year, so we are praying that “Miracle” will be their choice.  It Is Awesome!!  While listening to the music and watching these two precious friends, I snapped a few expressions.2010 Apr 19 Frank n Helen Magauire-1We are sure that “Miracle” will be showing at a theater near you in a year or two.  Frank and Helen gave us an autographed copy of his CD!!

Before we left Frank and Helen’s, Don was beginning to feel really yucky.  We were invited to supper with Jo and George Becker, but had to decline because Don needed to get back to the Q.  He was feeling so bad that he let me drive.  He has high fever, headache, upset stomach and achy joints and muscles… like the flu or a virus.  I checked his scar and there is no redness or puffiness, so don’t think it’s infected.

We’re praying for a healing touch from the Lord.

The Spirit of God uses the Word of God when we approach the Throne of God.

Rejoicing in the wonderful day we’ve had.
