We are so excited about our first Sunday as chaplains at Johnson Creek RV Park. The Chapel in the Hills is beautiful and there were 16 campers present not counting Don and I. We sang songs, prayed and Don brought a really good sermon - "Are You Tired and Weary?" As we waited, it was like being in a country church watching the people walking up the hill to worship together. What a blessing!
From the stage area looking toward the door.
Don trying to figure out the “sound system.” In the picture above you will notice the little black squares in the corners at the ceiling… those are speakers, one in all four corners… surround sound.
It’s 9:30 A.M. and they came!! All but four were part of a rally from the Houston area. The spirit in the chapel was so sweet this morning.
Two workampers came and we are thrill about that.
Don was so excited to be back in the pulpit after being away for over a month.
The group from Houston wanted their picture taken with us, so I took advantage of the time to get a picture for the blog.
After to our chapel service, Don and I went into Ingram and went to church at the First Baptist Church.
This building was once the beer distributorship in this town.
The pastor at the FBC is young and dynamic and preached right straight from the Bible. We sure enjoyed the message God had given him.
Lunch was at Billy Gene’s on the Guadalupe River.
This afternoon was very restful and we watched the OKC Storm beat Memphis to continue in the playoffs.
About 5:30 PM, we headed to Western Town for a pizza supper provided by the park owners….
Lisa, (long blonde hair) and Tom (behind Lisa in the cap). Melinda, office manager is on the right and that’s Mryna on the left.
Michelle is telling Tom about the pizza oven. Michelle is our neighbor and is from Iowa. That’s Barry and Donna in back and Sonny (Melinda’s hubby) on the right.
This little cutie is Delanie, Lisa and Tom’s daughter. She loves volleyball, so Lisa, Tom, Barry, Dana and I played a little volleyball after supper. I sure hope I can get out of bed in the morning! She’s covering her mouth because she just almost hit me with a spiked volleyball. Can you believe it???? A kid to play with!!!
I’ve been listening and watching online, the 2011 Epicenter Conference being held in Jerusalem right now. It’s eye opening.
Joel 2:1
1 Sound the alarm in Jerusalem!
Raise the battle cry on my holy mountain!
Let everyone tremble in fear
because the day of the Lord is upon us.
