Tuesday, another glorious day in the desert valley

On our walk this morning we stopped in to see Jack and Kathy Gordon who are both ailing with respiratory infections.  We stayed at a safe distance, hopefully, but wanted to check on them.  They're still ailing so prayers are still appreciated.

As we were leaving, I saw this big-eyed dove building her nest on their truck.  That's the windshield wiper behind her, so now you know where she's building her nest.  I had noticed this nest Sunday afternoon when we went to see them.  This morning, the Gordons drove into Casa Grande to the doctor and the nest was still there when they got home.  It's going to be interesting when she lays eggs.100_1162

This "Cadillac" of a tandem bicycle was parked up by the club house, but we didn't see who was riding it.100_1165

There was also a gem show and sale going on at the club house.  I didn't buy anything.100_1166100_1167

Continuing on our walk, we saw Virg, Linda, Madeline and Mike visiting in the street, so we stopped and chatted for a few minutes.100_1169

Everyone got the "memo" to turn around, except Linda.100_1170

Alec has a beautiful vegetable garden.100_1171

Perry and Janice Brown came by and got us to go to lunch at Macayo's.  We enjoyed our time with them and are disappointed that they will be leaving for Oklahoma on Thursday.100_1172

What is it about birds and pickup trucks.  This pair of gambrel quails were having fun on our truck this afternoon.100_1173

I sat on the step and watched the birds who were more bold than usual as they had ventured out of the cactus garden.  This picture looks like the dove and the quail are chatting with each other.100_1178

The Gambrels here are so well fed and healthy... fat.100_1187

Around four o'clock we walked down the street to a neighborhood get-together at Pat and Slim Steele's.  We met some of our neighbors that we haven't met before.  That was great.100_1195

Slim is telling a story, I think.100_1196100_1198100_1201

Don Hutson, just wait until I tell Toma the story you are telling about her.  She will never leave the park again.100_1203

It was great to see Donna at the party.  She's been in the hospital with her diabetes and then she fell and damaged the tendons in her ankle.  She has to be off her feet for about eight weeks.

Fred and Heather just bought the site next door to Slim and Pat.  I like this picture of Fred.100_1210

Lester, Fred and Heather.100_1233

Harvey, Lorraine (doing wonderful since her recent liver transplant) and Slim. 100_1232

Some yelled, "LaVon, get your camera and come here!"  So I got out into the street in time to look over the top of the house at this "sun dog."100_1212

Did you ever just look up and see all the activity going on in the sky?

These clouds almost look like waves washing upon the beach.100_1220

And then, there was this huge bird, almost looks like an eagle... 100_1221

in fact, there were three of them circling.  Hmmm.  Maybe they're vultures.100_1222

When these planes caught my eye, there was actually three planes.  The commercial airliner escaped being photographed by a few seconds.100_1224

Just put a camera in my hand and I can entertain myself all day.

It's been a great day.

Oh, yes.  AI was disappointing again tonight.  Casey did pretty good, but I'm still waiting for someone to just be outstanding.  Hasn't happened yet.

Praise the Lord.  He's the only one who deserves high praises.  He never disappoints.  He's never anything but awesome and outstanding!

Love the photos. Birds are some of my favorite things. All that bright sun in your pictures and everyone sitting around in short pants makes me ready to fly south! We never know where the Lord or the storms will take us, but we love the south.
