Considering a Grandparent's Legacy

Don and I have been thinking about and discussing lately, the legacy that we want to leave for our grandchildren.  As a result of something Don read lately, we have been thinking about our legacy; that which is the most valuable thing we can leave to our grandchildren.  It is our deepest desire and prayer that at any time in the future when someone might ask one or any of our grandchildren, "What do you think about when you think of your grandparents?" their answer would be, "The first thing that comes to my mind is how much my grandparents loved the Lord and sought to follow Him."  That is the kind of example we want to be for them.

With that prayer in our hearts, we are so grateful and thankful to God that two of our grandchildren, Logan (7) and Taylor (13), are here this week and have witnessed the miracle that came to fully be realized this past Monday.  May the magnitude of what they saw and heard this week stay with them forever and may their faith in God grow daily because of that miracle.

Father, help us to communicate our love for You to each one of our grandchildren and more than that, help them to see and understand the joy we experience from serving You and loving others; that nothing compares to the life dedicated to Jesus Christ.  Father, help them to hear and know Your voice, always.  Keep the evil one from them as they grow up in truth, light and knowledge of You.  Help Don and I live a life for you, before our grandchildren, that is worthy of being termed, "a Christian legacy."  In Jesus name, Amen.

Grandkid humor:  Of Jack Gordon's cooking, Logan said tonight, "Mr. Jack cooks so good, his picture should be on the Chef Boyardee can!"  Tonight's specialty was chicken spaghetti and cherry salad, delivered to our door.  You rock, Jack Gordon!!

Don even felt good enough to walk to the pool to watch the boys playing this afternoon.  Amazing!100_1552

"I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
