Last night, we said our 'good-byes' to Stephanie, Rick and the boys, as they were going to leave early this morning heading for the Grande Canyon. However, this morning, it was snowing in north Arizona, so they headed south and then east toward Oklahoma. (As I write at 3:30 a.m., we have been texting and they are dodging the bad weather in Oklahoma and are about thirty minutes from their home.) What? More snow in Oklahoma on the first day of Spring????
Just as Don and I started our devotion/prayer time this morning, we heard something on the roof of the Q. Who knew it was going to rain this morning? This is what it looked like outside as I rode my bike to choir practice.

Remember I wondered what the plant on the left was, yesterday? Well, I learned from Toma that it is a new Tumbleweed plant, of which there are a lot out here.
After, choir practice, we met Ardith and Rod for lunch at Cracker Barrel. They will be leaving Casa Grande soon and we wanted to see them one more time before they leave. Love this couple!!
For dinner, we spent a delightfully fun time with ex-Quail Run friends, Robin and Neil Umatum who were passing through the area, and current-Quail Run friends, Rick and Wendy Fury.
Management needed our first table for a larger party coming in so we were offered free desert if we would move to this table. You never saw six people move so fast. Pay attention to the wine glasses in the following pictures and notice that they remained empty. Usually the waiter/waitress removes them if they aren't being used... she was very busy, I guess.

After sampling everyone's plate, Robin and I decided that Don's Chianti Braised Short Ribs, orzo, etc. was the tastiest at the table, despite the look on Robin's face (above). After all, it was her idea for Don to order this. 
Did I really give Rick my camera???? What was I thinking? Maybe.... ooooh, there's still a tad of food on this plate!
No one strikes a pose faster than Robin!
Robin is even bolder than I about asking someone to take our picture. Imagine that! It was so good to get to spend a little time with Neil and Robin. Thanks to Rick and Wendy for calling us to share dinner at the Olive Garden with them!
Back at the park, we stopped by Bud and Barb Steiner's for a game of Mexican Train with them and Keith and Pat. When I walked in the door, I told them, "Look out! It's the girls' night tonight!" And I was right! Must have been the result of having had dinner with Robin and Wendy, plus the fact that Barb and Pat totally agreed with me. We were on a mission!
Well, our days are getting fuller and fuller as the time draws near for friends to start leaving the desert. We, also, have other friends coming in for a visit. Can't wait to see them! (Pictures will be posted.)
Yesterday, Don and Bob Ruesch had a meeting with steering committee chairman, Fran (and Linnea) Bolm and member, Betty Livingston, to determine that they would like for Christian Resort Ministries to provide our replacements here.
Today, the Steering Committee was scheduled to meet at two o'clock, but was postponed because Fran had to go to the doctor due to problems from a broken nose he received when he fell this past weekend. We're praying it is nothing serious.

Authentic Beauty

We did have fun didn't we! I am so proud of you for posting that picture that Rick took. LOL!!! Robin was trying to look innocent in that picture. Glad the kids made it home safely.
