We've been so busy, I think I'm behind a day or two, so I am going to blog about today and go back later and catch up.
I called Thelma this morning and they got to Michigan and home last night. Their flight was, thankfully, straight through, but Jim didn't have oxygen on the plane and he didn't take his water pills before their flight. Consequently, Thelma said he gained six pounds of fluid by the time they got home. Jim's two daughters met them at the airport, which was good, and Thelma's daughter and twin boys came to their house last night, too. Hospice also brought out oxygen last night. Thelma was very tired and a little emotional. Prayers for them are greatly appreciated.
How do you like the new header picture? That's our Trichocereus, which now has four blooms, with the first two beginning to die. They are so delicate and only last a day or two.
Early this morning, I walked over to the cactus garden to see if any thing else was blooming. Ms. Emi had a big pot of pink geraniums behind their motorcoach.
So many folks have already left for the summer that we had about half the number in choir practice this morning, however, we still had a good practice. When I got back to the Q, the first bloom was already wilted. Looks sad, so I will remove it tomorrow.
Lori is so talented; she even cuts hair and volunteered to trim my hair this morning. Thanks LoPo!!
Don suggested that we drive into Casa Grande for lunch, so we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Macayo's. This was the wall art across from our table.
Back at the Q, Lori and I worked on her blog a little more. She wanted ideas for naming their blog, so I suggested Posts' Post; they loved it.
Before meeting friends at Chris' Diner in Arizona City, Don and I drove over to visit with Damon and Lorna. Damon has been ill for months and has agreed for hospice to come help them out as they found out yesterday that he qualifies. Lorna plays the organ and piano for our church services and has been taking Don's sermon CD's home for Damon to listen to. He told us today that he is planning to come to church Sunday, if he feels good enough. He has much pain in his body. Thank you for praying for Damon and Lorna.
George and Jo Becker, friends we had dinner with tonight. George is recovering from knee replacement, both knees and awaiting shoulder repair surgery.
Kim and Mitch Moser, full-timing friends who served as chaplains at Quail Run last winter. It was great to see Kim and Mitch again catch up with what's been going on in their lives.
Back at the Q, Lori and I visited via Skype to make sure what we had set up yesterday really works. It really works!
