Lori and Norm picked us up about 10:00 a.m. and we head to Tucson for Don to get his lab work done and also see the surgeon. We are very impressed with this VA Medical Center, seems very efficient. Don did not have to wait very long anywhere.
This is the main building, where the yellow dome is.
This is Building 80 where we spent most of our time today.
Imagine you are standing on the floor looking straight up at this. Can you guess what you are looking at?
That's right. You are looking at the inside of this copper dome atop Building 80.
For lunch we re-visited Los Portales.
I don't remember these insects as part of the decor inside the restaurant three years ago. This giant ant was about ten inches long.
Lori and Norm Post (aka LoPo and NoPo) thoroughly enjoyed Los Portales and then we headed back to the VA for Don's next appointment. While Don was with the surgeon, we entertained ourselves with a game of Zilch (aka the Stupid Game).
Part of the parking lot at Building 80.
Later this afternoon, after we returned back to the park, I rode my bike to the other side of the park to get a picture of the early trichocereus in FULL bloom.
I decided to play around with enhancements in Picasa 3. Black and white with color focused in the center.
The quail are loving this weather and they are everywhere.
After Don rested a while, we invited Norm and Lori over to play a couple of games of Spades. Thanks, again, to them for taking us to Tucson and sharing the day with us. We had a good time.
Prayer:
Save Your people,
And bless Your inheritance;
Shepherd them also,
And bear them up forever (Psalm 28:9).
