Where did the time go??
All of us could not have been happier with the arrival of Blaine Austin. He was only a few days old at Christmas in this family photo. His big sister, Lydia, adores him.
As he grew each month, more and more he favored his mama, my daughter LaNae. Here they both are at about three months old. We have another picture of them both at one year and you can't tell them apart, but unfortunately I don't have those two pictures scanned.
Happy Blaine at about 18 months. At about six months old with his Uncle Khalil. He got a motorcycle "like" his dad's, for Christmas 2004.
We took lots of pictures of Lydia and Blaine this year, 2005, to send to daddy in South Korea. July 4 2005
Summer 2005 This is my favorite school picture of Blaine. He's five years old in this picture and he looks ten. So handsome. (He's beginning to favor is good-lookin' daddy more.) First kindergarten love! He adores this little girl and she's his good friend, but she keeps him in his place. So fun to watch them. This was taken on a field trip to the zoo while Don and I were in Norman. It was a fun day with Rocket. Marley (a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) and Rocket have a lot of fun together. They've grown up together and are best buds. Rocket broke his arm this past summer and and didn't get to swim much at all and he LOVES the pool. Rocket (with front tooth missing but you can't tell) and his mom at Mama Trudy's 90th Birthday Party.
And before we knew it, it was the first day of First Grade! (He's hiding his cast behind his back.)
During our very short visit to Norman Oklahoma in October, we had dinner with Blaine, LaNae & Mike. Blaine and Mike had been on a Father/Son Retreat and had lots of stories to tell us, including the one about Blaine getting lost... that's the one they dreaded telling his mama! But, thank God, he was okay and probably learned a valuable lesson.
I hi-jacked these pictures off Facebook where LaNae recorded their trip to the pumpkin patch. And just like that... Rocket is SEVEN! Wow. I still say I am in the Turbo Time Zone. He's doing great in school, especially in math. He must get that from his dad! (JK) As easily as he has learned how to count, we pray that he learns what counts. We are so proud of him, we thank God he was born and we know that God has wonderful plans for Blaine....WE WISH YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROCKET!!!
We love you very much!
