M-T-W-Th

So sad... My blogging isn't worth much without pictures.

Monday was a quiet day... just did laundry.

Tuesday Linda and Joel came over to play a game of "Zilch."  They're so fun.

Mama Trudy's wasn't feeling well... didn't sleep much, so I talked to her a couple of times on the phone today.  She wanted LaNae come over and stay with her while she rested, so she did.  I'm so thankful that LaNae is there and wants to help out any time she can.

And then a really good new friend stopped by with a nice check to go toward a new camera... since mine was in my purse that was stolen.  I really don't know what to say, except "Thank You! sooooo much!"  You've heard and probably experienced, that it really is easier to give than it is to receive.  It's very humbling.  We are so blessed.

Wednesday we drove over to Bartlesville, OK to get a new driver's license for me.  We also looked in at Wal-Mart for a new camera, but didn't find what we wanted.  We ate lunch at Murphy's Steakhouse and then came "home."  It was a beautiful day with a 70+ temperature, no wind and no clouds.  We put out the awning and sat outside for a while, soaking up some vitamin D.  Some folks came by to get their mail and told us that they heard it was warmer here than it was in Florida today.  I got on the phone to call Dave and Darlene, just to gloat.  [insert a big grin here]  Of course, I got their voicemail so left them a message.  Later in the evening, they called and we had a good visit with them by phone.  It's always so good to talk to friends on the phone.

Mama's still light-headed and Don's Aunt Bernice went over and stayed with her for awhile.  She loved that and we sure appreciate it.

The lap top, that is less than 18 months old, froze up tonight and now it will not come back on.  I took the battery out and put it back in, but nothing happened.  The PC also needs a new video card, so it freezes up every now and then, but so far, it has always come back on after shutting it down for a few minutes.

Thursday... oh, that's today.  Well, this morning, Don got up around 6:00 after waking up every hour on the hour since 2:00 AM.  I also woke up at 3:00 AM when the cold front hit with a big gust of wind ... I bolted straight up as I remembered that the AWNING IS STILL OUT!  Not to worry, I got it rolled in before any damage was done.  I promptly went back to sleep.  When I got up, Don, said he felt like God had given him a plan:  after we spend January, February, March and probably part of April in Arizona, we will come back to Norman, OK and spend the summer with our moms.

Called mama and she's much better after doing her exercises for vertigo.  She had not felt like doing her exercises before, but she did them anyway this morning and she said that really helped her.  Praise the Lord.

Don did some online comparisons and finally found the best camera deal at Amazon.com... of all places.  So my new camera is ordered and should be here by next Tuesday.  I can hardly wait!

I do have a funny story, however.

Keep in mind that Friday is pay day and there are people in and out of our "house" all day long.

Saturday morning, I raised the shade in our bedroom when I heard a car pull up.  Sure enough, someone had been out of town the day before and they wanted to pick up their check.  We chatted for a few minutes and then they left.  I went back up to the bedroom, just happened to look out the window and saw, parked a fifty feet down the drive, a Coffeyville Police car.  The officer was just sitting there watching our 5'er.  After about 10 minutes, he pulled forward for about a minute or two and then pulled out onto the street and headed back toward town.

Then it hit me!  "Don!" I yelled, "They think we're drug dealers!!"  We got a big laugh out of that.  Of course, we haven't heard anything from anyone, but tomorrow is pay day again, so stay tuned!
