Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Monday was a really good day.  We drove over to Bartlesville, OK to meet a good friend for lunch and we had a great time with Vickie.

While in Bartlesville, we also bought gasoline for $1.89.9/gallon.  Yippeee!

Then we did laundry... it was Monday, after all.  Joel and Linda were at the laundromat, also, and we made plans to get together afterwards to play a game they wanted to teach us.  Have you ever heard of "Zilch?"  The game we played with a deck of cards.  It was really fun.  We laughed and laughed.  Yvonne came over and joined us and we laughed some more.  Laughter is good for you, you know.

We were interrupted several times by folks coming to get their mail and by Sally bringing Monday's mail, but that was ok.  Did I tell you we laughed and laughed?

Yesterday, Tuesday, not a lot going on.  It sure was windy 25 - 30 mph gusts.  Don got a haircut.  He found out that there was a basketball game that night at the community college.  We wanted to go, but my back is still "spaszing" so we didn't figure sitting on the bleachers would be the best thing for me.

We had so much fun Monday with Linda and Joel, so we invited them back yesterday afternoon to play "Zilch" again.  They stayed until 3:00 PM when I had to "go to work."  We're thrilled to be able to fellowship with new friends.  Joel and Linda are from far east Missouri, almost to the Illinois border and also not far from Kentucky.  Good people.  She brought homemade trail mix to munch on. That stuff is addictive... sure was good.

Not much on TV last night worth watching.

So now it's Wednesday... not much going on but a few phone calls.  The wind is blowing worse than yesterday.  It's cloudy and the weatherman is saying:

Rest of Today

Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms. Windy. Some thunderstorms may be severe late in the afternoon. Highs 75 to 80. South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 35 mph. (more like 40 mph)

Tonight

Mostly cloudy. Occasional thunderstorms in the evening...then a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Breezy. (breezy?  this weatherman has a weird sense of humor) Some thunderstorms may be severe in the evening. Lows 45 to 50. South winds 15 to 25 mph becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Oh, well.

As Don says, "The only thing that really matters and the only thing we are sure of today is:

"For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but will have everlasting life."

We don't consider John 3:17, the verse following the one in red, but I looked it up:

17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."

My sweet Jesus did not come to judge the people of the world, He came to save us from judgement and to give us eternal life, if we would only believe in Him.  A person who does not believe in Jesus Christ, brings judgement on themselves.  It's not the LORD's doing. He has made a way for us to avoid judgement as we accept His free gift of salvation, as He paid our sin-debt, as He laid down on the cross to provide a way for us to the Father, as He died and rose again to live forever and intercedes for us.  Oh, what a precious and wonderful gift is the salvation Jesus, The LORD, has provided us.

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:7 (NASB)

I've missed a few days posting, so I will add three more of the twelve commandments with the adorable pictures. Let's look at what they say:4 FOUR#4.  That's so true.  If my goal is to please God, that's the best I can do for everyone around me and all those I meet.  5 FIVE  #5.  Amen.  Here again, with the Bible as my standard, I have the most freedom to be myself... the person God designed me to be.6 SIX #6.  This is very good advice as Proverbs 22:7 says:
"The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender."  The cost is minimal for enjoying the beauty of our LORD's creation.  We certainly don't need to go into debt to "smell the roses."

Philippians 4:7 (New American Standard Bible)
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
