We get all loaded into Rick and Wendy's truck and Don prays for our safety and "Lord, may we all still be great friends when we get back home! Amen!"
And we're off!!
This is Lake Hefner in north Oklahoma City. See the parasail? We had a nice drive to Missouri, stopping in Vinita at the Clayton Cafe for lunch. On down I-44 a few miles, we stopped for dessert. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot. On the way, I took over a dozen pictures of giant U.S. flags. We made it to the Lake of the Ozarks! Wendy has her camera aimed and ready. Ah, there's a nice view.Bruce greets us in the parking lot of their condo. The view from Bruce and DeAnn's deck, with flags even! When we arrived, DeAnn was gone to the grocery store (yeah!! groceries are good!) When she arrives, hugs all around. It is good to see our wonderful friends, the Hoover's. If you remember, they were our awesome activity directors at Quail Run two years ago.I love this picture of Bruce and DeAnn at the restaurant where we had dinner. Our traveling buddies, Rick and Wendy. We asked our waitress, Laura, to take our picture. Saturday morning at the condo, I loved taking pictures from the deck. Sunrise over the Lake of the Ozarks. A rainstorm in the distance. We fed these ducks, and more, from the deck.It is so peaceful here.
