Re-visiting Branson with the Fury's
I made a final inspection before leaving the Hoover condo. This is the living area with new furniture. The dining and kitchen area... also, new furniture. The kitchen from the other door.I wonder where DeAnn got the cross/dove hanging on the wall? I like.We stopped at a little local cafe and had breakfast and then we were off to Branson. These lilies were at the McDonald's in Springfield. Very pretty color. The clouds were beautiful today. From the back seat through the front windshield as we travel down highway 65 toward Branson... ..... but you get the idea. When we got to Branson, we started at Branson Landing with the intention of eating lunch somewhere on the landing. We wanted to show them the river walk. There's a man with a cane trying to hide behind Wendy. You can barely see a man with a cane to the far right in this picture as we walk along the river walk on Lake Taneycomo.Don, Wendy and a man with a cane.As we were walking along, I looked down into the water and got the heebeegeebees. And wouldn't you know it, the man with the cane is way up ahead of me. I'm pretty sure this is a water moccasin, but it was just so still, even with the movement going on above it. It would stick out it's tongue in snake fashion to test it's environment, but no movement. So, I picked up a little rock pebble and dropped it very near it's head. It jerked it's head to one side but did not move it's body. It has suddenly occurred to me why it wasn't moving: the water in this lake is very cold... so cold that in some places there was a fog above the water... I think this snake is so cold he can't move!!Several yards further... Hey, duck! don't go down there! There's a snake down there! The man with a cane and Don have stopped to rest while Wendy and I take pictures of the dancing water and flowers. The man with a cane is very, very patriotic. We walked all the way down to the Bass Pro Shop and back up the street of the Landing. It sprinkled on us and it was oh.so.muggy.and.hot. We decided to take Wendy and the man with a cane to a special place for lunch... a favorite of ours in Branson. On the way, we took a short detour to get a picture of the free medical clinic that was born from Don and Dennis (CRM International) and their desire to be a part of a plan God had already began. No one could see it yet, but God began this work in the hearts of Don and Dennis and within two years, it is a reality, serving the medical and spiritual needs of many in this area who do not have insurance and can not afford the medical attention they need.Click on these pictures to read articles regarding the clinic.I'm fascinated by the clouds. For lunch, we lost the man with a cane and found Rick. Now, the truth of the matter... this is the only reason we brought Rick and Wendy to Branson... for this picture, but don't tell them.It really is difficult to get out of this thing! What's that you ask?.... I had to take a picture of the struggle? Well, duh... have you met me?Giant hibiscus. Our special place to eat lunch almost turned out to be a disaster as the air conditioning at the Hard Luck Diner was not working so well. But we finally cooled off enough to enjoy our meal and the live entertainment. If you don't know the story, all the wait staff at the HLD must audition to get a job here, as they sing while they work. They are all very good singers. Today, I got no ones name. Sorry. Our waiter was Kevin Bliss, who we had met last summer, but I didn't get his picture today. The next two guys same in a trio, with a girl, as they walked around each one in a different location in the cafe....... this was the lead singer and they sang a Christian song, "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" and it was great!! I also learned today that this guy was a finalist in the fourth season (Carrie Underwood) of American Idol. This is Casey. He was singing Johnny Cash today and doing a pretty good job of it. With a wink and a little inconspicuous nod of my, Rick was serenaded. We had to watch Rick closely... for a little of nothing, he would have stolen a microphone and had himself a good old time. Finally, at two o'clock, Jason Yeager's shift started. Here, he's doing something mundane like wait on customers. Geez.We had finished our meal, and the place was no longer crowded, so we stayed until Jason sang... they take turns. He crooned something by the Bellamy Brothers... it was good. Jason was on Idol two years ago when David Cook won.Wendy and I took a lot of pictures of the entire Branson area from this spot. Go on over to her blog and check out her pictures from here.We arrived back at the RV park around 9:30 PM and we are all still friends. God is good and we are so blessed!
