After coffee, we all got ready to take an early morning ride on the boat. We were also going down the lake to pick up Cathy and Jack at their son's condo.Don can hardly wait to get in the boat and on the water.Wendy is ready to go, too!You are looking at one happy man. It's a beautiful day with a few clouds and nice and warm. We felt a few sprinkles during the day, but that was all.Leaving the dock area and Bruce and DeAnn's condo. Don shakes hands with the Captain Bruce. This lake house is for sale, if you're interested. It's beautiful.Rick, I see you back there, trying to hide from my camera. We are moving briskly across the lake. Our hostess deserves to relax and enjoy the ride. At this very moment, you can bet she's thinking "early retirement."Now you didn't think I wouldn't find a dead tree, did you? And this one is on the golf course by the water. This is a new place. This is what you call "water curb appeal."As we pull into the dock area where Cathy and Jack are, we met this duck family.Hi! Jack, Cathy and Brandy! It was so good to see Cathy and Jack Montgomery again.Back out on the lake, DeAnn showed us this little lake house owned by a hog farmer from Arkansas. The sign on the dock says, "La Casa de Las Cascadas" for the waterfalls flowing from the rocks into the lake. There were at least five 'cascades' of water.Bruce said they keep adding falls.Around the lake, this massive house is called the Castle and it's owned by a man who made his fortune selling phone cards to prisoners.I kind of enjoyed myself as well. The pontoon is really a smooth ride. This is one of the few minutes that I didn't have my camera in my hand.Cathy is holding her visor on for obvious reasons. Now, I can't remember what we were all looking at.Back at the condo, Lindi was glad to see daddy.DeAnn is trying to escape the camera and almost made it. :-)The afternoon consisted of relaxing in and by the pool. Our host is soaking up a few rays.My handsome husband loves the water.See, Cathy, that wasn't so painful, was it. (Oh dear, I can see that index finger just a-wagging at me.)This afternoon, the lake was very crowded with boats and wave-runners.The evening brought a wonderful meal with friends, even new ones like Pastor Stewart and Betsy Pepper. Our hostess, DeAnn, took these shots of her "happy table."Of course, I had to get a picture of DeAnn serving. After dinner, we all got back on the boat to take Cathy and Jack back to their condo. Here is a picture of Bruce and DeAnn's pastor Stewart Pepper and his lovely bride, Betsy. On the way, we caught the sunset.(With a little zoom.)Our host and captain. What a striking figure he makes in the wind. It was dark before we got back to the condo. It was fun riding the lake at night. We sat around and visited so more before we all decided that we had just about packed all the fun into this day that we could and turned in.
Tomorrow morning, a new experience... Don and I will attend our first Lutheran worship service. We appreciate very much that Pastor and Mrs. Pepper were invited to dine with us tonight. We just can not get over how many new and wonderful friends we are making in our life. They seemed to enjoy hearing about the RV ministry and you know we loved sharing with them.
We're looking forward to worshipping with Bruce and DeAnn.
We are so blessed and grateful.
We are so blessed.
