Blogging sure helps me keep up with the days of the week. :-)
We heard the emergency alert sirens this morning about 10:45 and we immediately remembered the sirens going off last year at an odd hour and we were told that the dam at Table Rock Lake was about to be opened and the siren was to let all the fishermen on Taney Como River know that the water will soon be moving and rising. So, we jumped into the truck and drove the +/- five miles to the dam, passing Fall Creek on the way. When we got to the dam, nothing was happening, yet, so we waited around for awhile. There was a little water moving on the other side, but not what we were looking for. Taney Como River, lazy river. We could see BIG fish swimming in it. The Table Rock Fish Hatchery. Well, the fishermen were not leaving the river. We decided to take a little hike down a trail from where we were watching the dam. We found an old lookout. And another overlook built of rock with rock steps up both sides. There wasn't a sign or anything telling when these lookouts were built. Don, the adventurer decided, to follow the trail while I lagged behind taking pictures of vetch blossoms and a lizard and views of the river through the treesI finally caught up with Don standing out on a rock ledge looking at the river and dam. Here's the rock he was standing on. It's just sort of hanging out there over a cliff and very high up. (Still nothing happening at the dam.) Don took off again and I found more flowers to photograph. He wasn't too far ahead of me this time, in a quiet, cool place. We started back to the truck and right after I said, "Surely there's a dead tree out here somewhere," Don pointed to this stately friend. This very old rock walk way led to the old overlook from the parking lot. Still nothing is happening with the flood gates so we got in the truck and drove further down the river. The road was a dead end with a turn-around provided. Bob Quinn, get your fishing pole and c'mon... here's your sign:Well, we left the dam after about an hour or so of waiting. When we got home, we had worked up an appetite, so Don made us sandwiches. Isn't this a pretty tomato? Don make a beautiful sandwich and it tasted as good as it looks. On our afternoon stroll, Barry (feeling much better today, but still on oxygen) and Anna were just coming out to sit on their porch and Amanda (lives here and works in the office) had joined them for dinner. They informed us that the siren we heard was just a test. Oh, well, I got some nice pictures of the river anyway.Barry's got a ripe tomato!Which is now our tomato because Barry picked it and gave it to me!Barry has a trumpet lily about ready to open. And this lonely wildflower that we can't identify, but it's very pretty. On around by the front entrance are these pretty Echinacea. and mini roses. Bill got the camper he's working on painted today so here are some shots of his little camper. The doors are painted and laying on the tables to dry. The back: It even has an air conditioner. That's our day in pictures.
Dennis called this afternoon and CRM's proposal was accepted and it looks like we'll have offices in the building I showed yesterday. There's a lot of work to do ahead of us to get it ready for occupancy. We are very excited to see God at work and be where He is working. Please keep CRM and all personnel in your prayers. I don't know if I have told you, but there are about 15 physicians and surgeons who are ready and eager to be a part of the free clinic we are planning. There will be a church in the ground floor of the building and we will share the top floor with the crisis pregnancy center. We definitely see God at work bringing these three ministries together in one building. CRM will also have a food and clothing ministry at this location. Again, this is a faith effort and the prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated. Ask God if He would have you be involved in this blessing with us.
We are praising the LORD!
God bless you. God bless America. God bless Israel. And God bless us.
Amen.

We do love the scenery around Branson. Totally different from our winter scenery. So much green and lots of water here. Beautiful and peaceful.
