Praise God!.... now there's something to think about and I have been. It's really a curious thing for the human mind to understand. Is God so egotistical that He just wants us to praise and worship Him all the time? Does He need our praise and worship. No. God does not need anything. He has everything. What God wants is what is good for us and it is good for US to praise and worship God. That's His nature, His character... He desires all things that are good for us, to prosper us, to increase us, to fill up and satisfy our souls, our spirits, our lives. May we always remember that it benefits us to praise and worship God... it's GOOD for us.
How is it good for us? One of the first things that jumps to my mind: praising Jesus keeps satan at bay. Satan can not stand to be where Jesus is being praised, worshipped and adored. There is power, for the spiritual battle we are fighting, in praise.
When we are praising God, our focus is off ourselves. When we focus on God in praise, worship and prayer, He directs us to focus on others and reach out to meet their needs. Remember how good it feels to help someone else?
Yes. It IS GOOD, for us, to praise the Lord!
