Thursday dinner with Barbara Rhoads

Today was one of those memorable days that you have and when it's over, you don't have many pictures, but there's no doubt that it was a special day and you will remember it.

While Don attended the Thursday Branson Christian Businessmen's Lunch and Prayer Meeting, I did the laundry.

After the prayer meeting, Don & Dennis met with the pastor of the church that will be sharing the building with CRM and the crisis pregnancy center. Don really likes the pastor, as he has a vision that is one of outreach and getting outside of the "box"/building.

When I finished the laundry and walked out of the laundry room with the last of our towels in my arms, Bill was in the pavilion checking on his camper paint job. He yelled a greeting to me, so I walked over and sat down to visit with him. What a wonderful hour I spent listening to Bill's testimony of how God marvelously drew Bill to Himself. The entire story of Bill's life for 65 years, his salvation at that age and his life since was nothing short of fascinating to me.

Tonight was the night that sweet, sweet Barbara Rhoads had invited us and Dennis and Sally to her house for dinner. We all got there about 5:30, but the traffic was awful. We had to cross Lake Taneycomo to get to Barb's house. This bridge is very old, probably should be condemned. In fact that was discussed last year, I remember.After dinner we helped Barbara put labels on the nut bags. Her late husband was the The Nut Wagon that supplied glazed nuts to almost every theater in Branson. Since January, Barbara has continued the business by herself. Here's Dennis and Sally working as a team.And here's Princess who tries to keeps Barbara company, but wonders why she never stops from 7:00 AM until midnight. We had such a wonderful time with Barbara. We love her so much and have such admiration for her and through her love of the Lord and mission work, she's an inspiration. On July 10, she's going on a mission trip to El Salvador to teach the English language for ten days. What a lady!

BTW, the meal was absolutely delicious and she said she couldn't cook. Well, she's doing a wonderful job learning and she can practice on us any time she wants to.

A special day to remember and all because of the special friends we spent time with.
