Macayo's is Mexican

Tom and Sharon Peterson and friend, Ellen, will be going back to Oregon Sunday, so we wanted to get together with them one more time.  They were only in their new home about ten days before they left for Arizona.  Sharon also has a horse back home who is missing her, I'm sure.

We are so blessed to have been introduced to more of Tom and Sharon's friends.  We all met at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, Macayo's.  Pictured:  Ken and Sandy Myers (Oregon); Al and Terri Viscardi (New Mexico); Tom and Sharon Peterson (Oregon); and on the end, Ellen Hampton (Oregon). Looks like we all enjoyed our lunch!Don, Ken and Sandy Myer, Al and Terrie

It was really tough saying our good-byes to Tom and Sharon.  Three winters ago, they were 'old friends we just met' and now they are 'ever after' friends and we love them so much.  We will be praying for your safe travels, Tom, Sharon and Ellen.  Thank God for technology: blogs and emails and telephones!  Talk to you soon.  Another plus to being a Christian... if we never see these friends again, we know we will meet them in Heaven one day.  But we sure hope we see them again down our earthly path.

Remember the wind and dust storm we had about a month ago?  Here's a picture of a big tree that was split apart by the wind.  It's by the house with the purple wall/fence. [taken from inside the truck at 55 mph through the windshield]damaged by the Arizona desert valley wind

We had a couple of special treats this evening.  Son-in-law, Rick, got a webcam and we connected with Rick, Stephanie and Logan via Skype.  It is way cool to get to chat and see them in real time.  Logan is on the back side of the stomach virus, so he wasn't feeling his best.  Stephanie, Logan and Taylor may get to come out to see us during their Spring Break... keeping our fingers crossed and getting lodging prepared for them.

Next was a connection with Leslie, Emma and Camden.  Just can't tell you how wonderful it is to see our family members via the computer.  Sure helps with the feeling of being so far away from all of them.  Still, when we see them, we just want to hug them and love on them all.  Camden and Emma sang songs for us and tell us about school.  Camden is so funny.  Leslie had him say 'grace' for us: "God is great, God is good. Let us thank Him for our food. Amen. Amen."  That double 'Amen' just makes us giggle.

Daughter LaNae is having computer issues, so haven't been online with her or Lydia and Blaine in a while, but we have some not-so-good-news.  Lydia and Blaine's daddy, Mike, an Air Force captain, has to be in Afghanistan by March 17th. He is scheduled to be in Afghanistan for six months and we appreciate your prayers for him. The kids will be going to visit him in Florida before he leaves, taking in Disney World with him.

Sunday's Coming is posted!
