Of course, Friday morning is choir practice at Sunscape. I met Lori Post at the ticket table in the Club House to purchase tickets for the play, Feb. 26th.
After practice, I walked down to Thelma's to practice a song that Don's wants us to sing Sunday during the sermon. As I was walking, I heard something squawking overhead and looked up. Wow! I never saw this many buzzards circling.
I wonder what they are watching.
Thelma and I practiced and Don met with us at her house. Thelma told us some wonderful stories about her very recent mission trip to Trinidad.
We stopped by Jim and Toma's to see her newly painted wall. What we found was Jim giving Toma a haircut! Yeah! Jim cuts hair, so I got my name on his 'schedule.'
I love the cactus garden window wall color in their park model.
Jim is finishing up Toma's hair cut. He does a great job. She cuts his hair and he cuts hers.
While Jim cut my hair, Don went next door and did his pacemaker check-up over the phone. Well, the day we have been expecting was today. Don's pacemaker must be replaced. He has an appointment at the local VA clinic next Friday to make arrangements for his pacemaker to be replaced, probably at the VA hospital in Tucson.
We took a short nap in our respective recliners and then we just had to get out and walk in this beautiful sunshine and warmth.
Meet Sandy. She's 13 years old and on a diet. Sandy is very social and loves being loved by everyone.
This evening, Norm and Lori picked us up in their big truck and we head to Casa Grande to introduce them to the Creative Cafe. This mask was right beside Lori and was quite scary when she turned her head toward the wall.
There was a 'family' of mask. I think they're made out of coconuts.
After a delicious dinner, we headed back up the street to the Trinity Baptist Church to enjoy the New Song, a girls' choir from California Baptist University, sixty beautiful voices strong.
At intermission, the girls mingled with the audience. This is Vanessa with Lori and Norm.
Choir director. He was very good, spontaneously got the audience involved. He even heard a strong voice singing in the audience and before we knew it, he had her, a 70 year old, on stage singing a solo... and she did great!!!
A trio. Carissa is in the center, a cutie from Muskegon, Michigan.
Lori got very excited when she heard that Carissa was from Michigan, so they found her after the concert and I took this picture.
The New Song Choir was awesome and we had a wonderful night of worshipping the Lord together with them. I just love concerts!!! Thanks, Norm and Lori, for taking us/accepting our invite. It was the best time we've had in a long time.
"Instead of being afraid or oppressed by the spiritual darkness around us, we can rely on the grace that God gives His children to shine for Him." —David McCasland
"Lord, may I be a shining light
For all the world to see
Your goodness and Your love displayed
As You reach out through me." —Sper
Jesus came to give light to a dark world.
Remember, we are not called to dispel the darkness, but to share the Light. The Light (Jesus) will dispel the darkness.
