Happy Valentine's Day!

Church was great, as usual.  We had an almost packed house first service, but only forty-one in the second service.  Soon, we will be able to go back to one service as folks are beginning to leave.

Don preached a really good sermon on "Real Love" from 1 John 4:7-21.  In the middle of the sermon, he had requested that Thelma Taylor, Lori Post and I sing "Love Lifted Me," so we did and the congregation joined in on the chorus.  Just before the sermon, GH Sublett had sang a special, "My Tribute," music an lyrics by Andre Crouch.  I wish we had a recording of it... he did a great job.  I love that song.

After church, we had several invites out to lunch, but my sweet husband just wanted it to be the two of us today.  He goes above and beyond to make me feel special and important to him, even when others are pulling on him.  It's kind of hard for me not to feel guilty, but I got over it quickly (;-)) and we enjoyed our favorite Mexican restaurant served by our favorite waitress, LaTasha.

Did you know that you have a special way of being a blessing to your waitresses and waiters by praying for them when you say 'the blessing' before your meal?  We know that God hears and answers our prayers and that we might be the only people praying for our waitress/waiter and because of our prayers, God will do wonderful things in their lives.

Thanking God for our meal in restaurants is also a wonderful way to encourage other Christians, who may be observing, to do the same.  If every Christian who ate in a restaurant would bow their heads and thank God for their meal, etc., fewer non-believers would be so bold to ridicule.  They might even be drawn to seek God for themselves.  That is our prayer.  Can you imagine the impact that would have on a non-believer... seeing four, five, six tables around them at different times during their meal, bowing and praying?  Let's join forces Believers!!!  What wonderful impact we could have for The Kingdom of God and it takes so little effort.

After lunch, I called Thelma to see if Jim was still in the hospital as we were going to stop and see him, but, praise the Lord, they were already home!  Jim is facing more trips to the hospital to drain the fluid from around his heart.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Back at the Q, we spent a restful afternoon as Don was pretty exhausted from the two services this morning.  Thank God for rest.

I talked to Mama Trudy three times today.  She gets so excited about phone calls and just has to share them with me when someone calls her.  Today, she also enjoyed sitting by her front window and watching the big snow flakes fall.

Thank You, Father, for this beautiful day. My cup runneth over.
