Here’s our day of travel in pictures:
We got on the road about 9:00 this morning. Skies were overcast and a brisk wind blowing out of the southeast.
It was long until we reached the border patrol check point.
I got a good picture of one of the drug dogs.
Traveling through the King Ranch, I thought it odd to see a random palm tree out in the pasture.
Our first time through Kingsville, Texas.
Two huge flags blowing in the wind could be seen miles away.
We stopped to get gas and I couldn’t help noticing this. Shouldn’t be too hard to do. :-)
We notice a helicopter flying in the opposite direction.
And then it turned and came our direction.
It was just going in a big oval.
And across the highway, another mode of transportation.
We arrived at the Lazy Longhorn RV Park early and made contact with friends, Gary and Julie, who moved to Victoria from Oklahoma several years ago.
Gary came to get us when he got off work and took us out to there place. This a view from their back yard.
Gary, the engineer, is explaining how he designed the star flower bed.
Julie had beautiful Amaryllis.
And the center piece… “when pigs fly.”
Rose rocks from the Noble, Oklahoma area. Julie brought them with her.
On the way to dinner, they gave us a tour of part of old Victoria, established in 1824.
Many of the houses are Historical Markers.
Back at the Q after a delicious dinner at the Bayside Seafood Restaurant, I got this great picture of Julie, Don and Gary.
The pool at dusk.
We’re very thankful to God for travel safety and for a chance to visit with friends we haven’t seen in a long time.

Looks like an awesome trip, LaVon. I love those stately homes and the old, rambly trees -- and the beautiful flowers, too...especially that amaryllis!
Happy Easter, dear family member!
Grat pictures LaVon, glad you got to see old friends and hopefully the rest of the trip is going to go well...
