Connie Harmon invited me to accompany her to Feature Day at the Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen.
Featured today was Peggy who presented the Messianic Passover Haggadah. Haggadah means, the Telling.
“Passover is a story that has been retold for thousands of years. It is a story of miraculous transitions, as from slavery to freedom, from despair to hope, from darkness to light. Its greatness is the greatness of Yahveh. Its timelessness comes from the eternal truth of Yahveh’s involvement with His people. As Yahveh cared for the children of Israel in ancient times, Yahveh cares for all who are His today.”

Peggy explained something about the Matzoh bread that touched my heart. The Matzoh bread is “pierced” with holes that form “stripes” in the flat unleavened bread, representing Jesus being pierced by the sword and the nails and “by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.” Peggy explained that until the Matzoh (represents Christ’s body) is broken, others cannot be fed. She also said that often times, we must be broken for God to be able to use us to feed others. I got chill bumps remembering what Don went through last year and into this year… broken to “feed” others. Wow.
After the presentation, we were fed a delicious luncheon.
Worthy is the Lamb to be praise.
“Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; 5 and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world.
All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. 6 He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
7 Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.
And everyone will see him—
even those who pierced him.
And all the nations of the world
will mourn for him.
Yes! Amen!8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” -- Revelation 1:4-8
