Not far from our park is the Arkansas River. We have never seen it this low and it only has this small amount of water because it has rained for almost a week.
We couldn’t believe that the baseball field would be dry enough for Logan’s game this evening, but it was! It was very cool, so Don and I sat in the truck in the parking lot by the left field fence. Before the game was over, which Logan’s team won, the sun came out!! I took this picture of Steph from the truck… she’s sitting behind home plate. Looks like a paparazzi shot, doesn’t it?
Logan in action. He plays second base.
Coach Dad giving son some pointers after his base hit.
On his way to second base, Logan went on to score!
After the game, we met the baseball family at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and celebrate Don’s birthday, a few days early since we will be in Norman on his actual birthday. Stephanie gave Don a Ninja Master Prep food and drink maker! She has one and he’s been admiring it and dropping hints like crazy.
My dinner: Thai Lettuce Wraps. Almost divine.
Logan, sitting next to me, had this. I stole one of his fries. It wasn’t that good. (Dear Lord, forgive me for lying!)
We were, after all, celebrating Don’s birthday so he shared his Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake with me! Oh my. I may go into a cheesecake coma!
The wait staff gathered to sing happy 21st birthday again to Don. He’s singing to himself. LOL
He blew out his candle easily. I’m pretty sure he wished for a nice day for travelling tomorrow… you know, sunshine and not much wind.
We rarely get to see Madison, Rick’s daughter, but she drove in to help celebrate Papa Don’s birthday. She is a sweetheart and it was wonderful to see her. Taylor was at track practice and Kristina had to work late tonight. We missed them being with us.
