Mama Trudy walks about twenty minutes almost every day. This picture is her going to get her mail from the mailbox.
How do you like those sunshades? Her slip is not showing; that’s crocheted lace sewn to the hem of her skirt. I heart my mama!!!
She is so stinkin’ cute in her shades and ball cap! And she’s funny, too. Said she wears these “wrap-around” sunglasses to keep barking dogs away… she said, “They’re scared of me with these glasses on.” I can understand that. I’m laughing.
Being tall people, we chose this cracker box so the top of our heads wouldn’t hit the headliner, but we didn’t consider the lack of padding in the seat!
We are very thankful for the 30mpg gas mileage, but a twelve hour day in this cute little box was not a wise idea. We will take more time going back to the Q, that’s for sure.
My mama has always had a “green thumb” whether it was flowers, vegetables or trees.
Mama is stilling piecing quilt tops together. She loves to create. Presently, she is working on a border for this one. Isn’t this design pretty?
Here are just a few of her quilted pieces. I love this “window pane” quilt.
There are a couple of quilt tops that are coming home with me.
Don sat on the front porch this evening and watched a storm roll across the mountains. Mama’s weather radio said this “severe” storm was moving 55 miles per hour! This first picture was taken at 5:19 PM. There were no tornadoes reported, but straight line winds of 40 MPH.
This picture of the storm front already past was taken at 5:25 PM. That’s just six minutes! Those clouds were moving fast!
And then the blowing rain started.
You can really see the tree limbs being blown and the rain blowing in this picture.
Tonight, Mama made her famous cornbread patties to go with the five-bean-soup she had mad.
It’s so good to be here with Mama Trudy.
Thank you, Jesus.
