Camp Verde General Store

UPDATE:  Many thanks to our friend John Cartwright who sent email saying, “Google ‘Camp Verde camels.’  I did and the whole story can be found.  Thanks, John!

Debbie Nelson and I walked again this morning.  Boy, the time sure flies when you walk with a new friend.

Don needed to get out today, so we drove the few miles to Campe Verde.

Here’s a few shots along the short distance on a highway we haven’t been on.100_4109  100_4111

We found Campe Verde and since it was only about 11:30, we drove down the road for a little bit.  Saw this.  The Cypress trees line this creek for a long way.100_4116

We were not sure what to expect at the Camp Verde General Store, but we were pleasantly surprised.100_4124

Lots of artwork on the walls and wares on the shelves. 100_4119

Once again, I got a surprise when I upload my pictures from the camera.  My focus was the walls and all the things that was on the shelves, but notice the two couples at the table on the right.  Yes, they are holding hands, thanking God for their meal with bowed heads.  Does my heart so much good.  I am so thrilled that I got this picture.100_4120

Don was just as interested in everything in the cafe. 100_4121

After the delicious meal which only cost $11.00+a few cents!!! we “toured” the outside dining patio. 100_4127 100_4128 100_4129 100_4130 100_4131 100_4132 100_4135 100_4136 100_4137 100_4138 100_4139

I’m not sure why, but the camel is the Camp Verde General Store “mascot.” 100_4140

On the front to the right of the front door, there is a screened in dining area. 100_4141

I found a ' target=_blank>' target=_blank>YouTube video of the Camp Verde General Store.

Some of the farms and ranches here  are so pretty and clean looking.100_4144
