Last summer when we parked here, this was the only dead tree in the park.
This year, because of all the snow and ice they had here during the winter, they had to trim too many broken limbs and now five more trees have died out in the park part of the RV park.
Don likes to walk down to the creek… I suppose to dream about fishing. Today, all we saw were turtles in the water.
This is a very tiny picture… not minute, just tiny. I believe it is called Wine Cup. There’s a fascinating legend attached to this wildflower.
Also called Purple Poppy Mallow.
An unfriendly weed called a Musk Thistle, Texas Thistle or Nodding Thistle. I’m standing above looking down on this plant. It’s actually about 18” tall. That multifaceted bloom on the top will be a purple fluff ball soon, I think.
It’s blurry, but these are green cherries… not ripe red pie cherries. I found two trees loaded with fruit.
Park owner, Donna, shows one of her tomato plants.
Donna said she’s had a “tub garden” for years. This year, she has black-eyed peas, yellow bell pepper, acorn squash, yellow squash, and all types of tomatoes.
Excluding phone calls and emails, this was our Wednesday. Oh, wait….
We had tornado warnings and tornadoes jumping all over the place this evening.
6:02 PM – from the door of the Q toward the east-southeast. Tornado is forming in this cloud.
6:59 – east, about 8 miles away, tornado, going east… sirens are going off in the distance.
Pea-size hail…. and rain. That’s all we got. Thank You, Jesus!!
We’re certainly grateful for all the prayers for our safety and the safety of our family members in this state. Happy to report that we are all safe and sound.
Now… that was our wonderful Wednesday. Looking forward to the sunshine tomorrow.
